zakázanÝovoce releases a new album Mezi láskou a nenávistí and heads out on tour

The rock band zakázanÝovoce is releasing their long-awaited eighth studio album Mezi láskou a nenávistí (Between Love and Hate). The new record will be released on January 23, 2026, five years after the album Svět se změnil (The World Has Changed), and follows the band's 20th anniversary celebrations that took place in 2025.

The album contains a total of 12 tracks and summarizes several creative phases of the band from 2023 to the present. Fans already know singles such as Miami, Horký maliny, Drobný nedostatky, or the reflective rock ballad Nepřestanem snít. In the music video for this song, the band mapped their twenty-year history using archival footage. The album Mezi láskou a nenávistí also includes the single Jack & Sally. This song was originally written back in 2014 and was meant to appear on the album Automat na lásku.
"Fate, however, decided otherwise, and under producer Tomáš Fröde's guidance the lyrics were slightly reworked. In the end, it became one of the band's biggest hits under the title Zastávka na znamení," says Jarda "Yaris" Sládeček, one of the three founding members of the band. The animated music video for the song was released just before Christmas and has already surpassed 120,000 views on YouTube.

The new album was created under the production supervision of Honza Chudan from the band Škwor and once again authorially connects the duo Jaroslav "Yaris" Sládeček and Štěpán Soukup.
"It's been a long ten years since Štěpán and I released our joint album Díky vám!, which was a breakthrough. It became the most played album of the band on streaming platforms," says Yaris, adding that singles like Město andělů, Díky vám!, Probdělý noci or Někdo jako ty have since become fan favorites.
"We waited a long time for a new album together because I briefly stepped aside to focus on a solo career. But after ten years, we finally found the time and space to revive that old, working chemistry. We brought initial ideas into the studio and almost everything took shape during the recording process, so in the morning no one knew what would happen to their original idea by the evening. In the end, I consider it the most mature and most balanced album in the history of zakázanÝovoce," says Štěpán about the new record.

The album Mezi láskou a nenávistí will be released on January 23, 2026, and will be available both physically and on all streaming platforms. The release will be followed by a spring club tour, starting on March 13, 2026, in Uherské Hradiště and culminating on June 6 on Prague's Střelecký Island, where the band will ceremonially christen the new album. Live performances are considered by zakázanÝovoce to be a key part of this new chapter.

ABOUT THE BAND

The band zakázanÝovoce has been active on the Czech rock scene since 2005. Since then, they have played more than 1,200 concerts. The band is behind singles such as Alkoholka, Nech mě odejít, Vem si mě, Město andělů, Pornostár, Miami, Drobný nedostatky and Nepřestanem snít. In 2017, they appeared as the main support act on 25 dates of the anniversary tour of Horkýže Slíže, and over the years they have also collaborated with bands such as Harlej and Totální nasazení. In 2023, founding guitarist Štěpán Soukup returned to the lineup. Together with Jaroslav "Yaris" Sládeček, he has formed the band's core songwriting duo since the very beginning.
