XIII. Století kicked off the 2026 concert year at the Šeříkovka Cultural Center in Plzeň.

The gothic rock band XIII. Století kicked off their 2026 concert year on January 17, 2026. They have plenty of plans for this year, but the Šeříkovka Cultural Center in Plzeň can proudly say that this Jihlava-based band chose it as their very first stop of the year.
As the opening act, the Prague-based Projekt XIII performed. At the beginning of the evening, I was a bit worried there wouldn't be many people, but as the hands of the clock approached nine o'clock, the hall quickly filled up. Around half past nine, the curtain was drawn and the band stepped onto the stage.
The evening opened with the song Fatherland, during which the band thanked their fans for their support and did not forget to mention those who had traveled from other cities to see them. This was followed by songs such as Frankenstein, Mystery Anna, and Faust, during which singer Petr Štěpán fittingly wrapped himself in a red cloak.
Other songs followed, including Můj bratře můj, a tribute to the singer's brother and drummer Pavel, and Justina, whose chorus was sung along enthusiastically by the fans. The main set concluded with Karneval.
The energy in the hall was dark, intense, and pulsating. Naturally, the fans called for an encore. It began with Upír featuring violin. And of course, it wouldn't be a XIII. Století concert without their most famous sweeping ballad Elizabeth. The encore was finally brought to a close with Růže a kříž.
We would like to thank the band and the organizers for allowing us to be part of this event and to soak in the atmosphere of this powerful dark concert night.
