Wohnout Celebrates 30 Years on the Scene, Releases Anniversary Book

30/03/2026

The band Wohnout is celebrating thirty years on the scene this year. Over three decades, they've released ten albums, shot more than fifty music videos, and built up an impressive collection of live recordings in both audio and video formats. They plan to mark the milestone with a major tour and a unique biographical book.

Wohnout are heading out on their "Bohemian Thirty" tour, where fans can look forward to a special stage production and a retrospective setlist. The main gift for fans and music enthusiasts alike is a reissue of their debut album Cundalla on vinyl, along with an extensive publication titled "Thirty Candles on the Cake". Spanning more than 380 pages, the book was written by vocalist and guitarist Matěj Homola.

The story takes readers back to the final days of socialism in Prague's Vinohrady, where the band's journey began at an elementary school — a group of friends brought together by their love of punk.

"It's about how the four of us met and started the band, about concerts and backstage life, songwriting and recording albums, about important people we met, but also about the good and difficult times we went through together," Matěj explains.

The book's visual design was created by Honza Homola, who returned to his roots as a graphic designer for the project. Alongside a rich collection of photographs, the book also includes QR codes linking readers to dozens of videos and additional visual materials that complement each chapter.

The book is available at concerts, through the band's e-shop, and in bookstores such as Knihy Dobrovský and Pavel Dobrovský – Beta, s.r.o.. Wohnout also plans to release it as an audiobook.

The entire anniversary celebration will culminate on November 18, 2026, with a major concert at Lucerna in Prague.
