WIVES’ ANTHEM COMES TO LIFE: NUKLEÁRNÍ HOVADA SHOOT A NEW VIDEO FULL OF SATIRE, BEER AND REVERSED ROLES
A bride, men in "full working mode", women taking care of absolutely everything, and a generous dose of exaggeration. Saturday in Rumová země was all about filming and there was certainly no shortage of laughter.
On Saturday, September 19, 2026, an unusual scene unfolded in Rumová země. At first glance, it might have looked like a rather unconventional family gathering. In reality, the band NUKLEÁRNÍ HOVADA were shooting a new music video for their song Hymna manželek (Wives' Anthem). And the title alone suggests that this time, nobody is taking things too seriously.
The video was filmed on the property of the band's guitarist and singer, and instead of hiring professional extras, the band invited a group of friends and acquaintances to take part. That gave the entire Saturday shoot a relaxed and natural atmosphere. It was not simply about performing prepared scenes in front of the camera there was plenty of room for fun, spontaneous reactions and moments that developed naturally on set.
So what is Hymna manželek actually about? Above all, satire and exaggeration. The video plays with familiar relationship stereotypes and deliberately pushes them to absurd extremes. The women serve, organise, take care of everything and even tackle jobs traditionally labelled as "men's work". Meanwhile, the male half of the cast demonstrates a very different kind of commitment.
The men lounge around, drink beer, let themselves be waited on, generally avoid anything resembling hard work and, with remarkable seriousness, even find time to entertain themselves with children's games. It is exactly the kind of exaggerated picture that makes you laugh because, somewhere underneath all the absurdity, something about it might feel suspiciously familiar. From beginning to end, however, the whole concept is intended as a joke and a piece of satire rather than a serious statement.
One of the most striking elements of the shoot was the singer of NUKLEÁRNÍ HOVADA, who dressed up as a bride for the video. Why the wedding dress appears and what role it plays in the story will remain a secret for now. Revealing all the connections before the premiere would spoil the fun — especially for a video built around humour, surprises and punchlines.
The entire day was accompanied by a great atmosphere and plenty of laughter. The combination of bridal styling, domestic "comfort", men doing very little and women handling just about everything provided more than enough material for funny situations not only when the cameras were rolling, but often in between takes as well.
Behind the camera was Pavel Junek, who captured the Saturday madness and will help turn the footage into the final visual world of Hymna manželek. Judging by the atmosphere on set, the result is unlikely to be polished romance. Instead, it should deliver exactly what suits NUKLEÁRNÍ HOVADA humour, exaggeration, a touch of provocation and a willingness to poke fun at situations that almost everyone will recognise in one form or another.
For now, however, that is as much as we are going to reveal. Some scenes, costumes and little visual gags need to stay hidden until the video is released. Describing everything that happened in Rumová země on Saturday would take away the most important part of Hymna manželek — the moment when viewers discover for themselves just how far an ordinary relationship stereotype can be pushed.
One thing is certain: if the finished video is even half as much fun as the shoot itself, viewers have plenty to look forward to.
