War doesn’t begin with a gunshot, but with a forgotten story. Jirka Čevela releases the single and chilling music video “V nebi nad polem.”
Jirka Čevela, frontman kapely Circus Problem, presents the song V nebi nad polem, the second single from his upcoming debut album. The track tells the story of an ordinary person whose life is suddenly shattered — losing home, family, and stability, and finding himself in a landscape marked by violence. "V nebi nad polem is a song about how one human fate can get lost in the noise of war and media images," the artist explains. This powerful ballad reflects the theme of war through the perspective of an individual, highlighting how easily personal stories can disappear in media noise — a message that grows stronger with each listen.
The single was created shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and carries a strong statement about loss, helplessness, and disillusionment. "War doesn't begin with a gunshot, but with forgetting one human story," Čevela says. This idea is also reflected in the lyrics: "Amid webs of false hopes, a faint light glows in a shack, while death spins the roulette and someone says: supposedly nothing can be done."
The music video expands on this theme through striking visual symbolism. Motifs of emptiness, silence, and unease intertwine with imagery of people affected by war and the figure of Death, portrayed by actress Lenka Breeding. Her performance is complemented by other participants, standing motionless with dirt-covered faces and staring directly into the camera, creating a chilling and intense atmosphere. "The idea came to me while walking in the forest and looking at my phone. I realized how heavy the impact of media imagery can be on the fate of an ordinary person. In one part of the world, someone builds political marketing based on fear and lies, while elsewhere, a person affected by war has lost everything — and instead of telling their real story, a distorted image spread by populism and hypocrisy takes over," the musician explains.
The video also features cellist Hana Havlová, with cinematography by Rony Thilakan, who also co-directed and edited the clip alongside Čevela. The new music video will be officially launched on March 26 at Café Letka in Prague, where its premiere will take place. The debut album is scheduled for release in autumn and will be launched on October 23, 2026, at Malostranská beseda in Prague.

Jirka Čevela is a musician, accordionist, and songwriter behind Circus Problem. Since 2023, he has also focused on solo work. His music blends chanson, Balkan influences, rock, and folklore. It is characterized by strong atmosphere, poetic lyrics, and attention to detail, with the accordion serving not just as accompaniment but as a full-fledged storyteller. In January 2026, he released his first solo single Lesem, followed by the new track V nebi nad polem, and he is currently preparing his debut album.
