Valhalleluja! How Nanowar of Steel and Uuhai tore down Prague’s Futurum!

Forget boring concerts where the band just stands stiffly and counts down the minutes until the end. On Thursday evening, February 5, 2026, Prague's Futurum Music Bar turned into a venue of unleashed madness, bizarre costumes and first-class entertainment. The stop of the Across Europe Tour 2026 promised a unique clash of genres dominated by Italian comedy-metal masters Nanowar of Steel, the Mongolian band Uuhai and their guests. Lady Ahnabel also performed. Unfortunately, Danish band Defecto had to leave the tour for health reasons and were replaced at the last minute by Luxembourg's My Own Ghost, while Cold Snap eventually dropped out as well.
The evening was opened by the French formation Lady Ahnabel. Their set was built on raw energy, heavy guitars and a strong female vocal. Although the band sang in French, they proved that metal and the French language work surprisingly well together. The singer kept excellent contact with the audience, which stood just a few inches from the stage. At the end, she threw their new merch into the crowd for one lucky fan to take home.
After a quick stage change, My Own Ghost took over. This Luxembourg-based group balances on the edge of hard rock, pop melody and modern electronics. Their performance was marked by catchy choruses and straightforward rhythms that immediately won the crowd over. Futurum filled up only slowly during the support acts. People mostly stayed near the bar at the back of the club, clearly saving their energy for Uuhai and Nanowar of Steel.
When the Mongolian band Uuhai appeared on stage, the air in the club instantly grew heavy with anticipation. This was no cheap copy of The Hu – this was pure, raw energy. Uuhai delivered a gripping show in which traditional Mongolian instruments organically merged with modern metal elements. They opened with the song Beginning and continued with hits like Dracula, Khar Khulz and Uuahi. Czech fans once again showed how much they love Mongolian folk metal. The whole hall danced, sang and enthusiastically copied the band's dance moves, creating a perfect symbiosis between stage and audience.
Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for – Nanowar of Steel. I went to the concert as someone seeing their show for the first time. I deliberately didn't look anything up beforehand, and that made my amazement even greater. When Mister Baffo appeared on stage in a purple wig and a pink skirt, it was immediately clear this band was exactly for me.
The evening started with an intro that smoothly led into the song Sober. From that second on, the stage never stopped dancing and going crazy. During the show, they changed costumes several times – for example, during Stormwarrior of the Storm, Mister Baffo put on a yellow raincoat. A big surprise came with Il cacciatore della notte, when singer Potowotominimak appeared on stage in an owl costume. During Disco Metal, the entire Futurum turned into one big dance floor. Other hits followed too - HelloWorld.java, Norwegian Reggaeton, Armpits of Immortals and the final Valhalleluja.
Nanowar of Steel may not take anyone or anything seriously, but they know exactly what they're doing. They parody a genre they technically master to perfection – and they do it with enormous respect for music itself. The audience enjoyed the show to the fullest, and I have to admit I discovered a new band I'll happily go see again in the future.
In conclusion, big thanks go to all the bands – Nanowar of Steel, Uuhai, My Own Ghost and Lady Ahnabel – as well as to the organizers and the fans who turned this night into an unforgettable ride.
