The spectacular launch of BigBýt: Rybičky 48 dominated Forum Karlín

A little after five o'clock, a queue formed in front of the Karlín Forum, as if a world star was heading there. But this mass of fans was not waiting for a foreign name – this madness was unleashed by the Czech band Rybičky 48, who arrived here to christen the new album BIG/BÝT. The gates opened at half past six and the first 500 lucky people had the opportunity to have their picture taken with the band.
The evening started off with a bang. Manager Martin entered the stage and announced what everyone had been waiting for – a musical battle, a duel between Pekař and Jakub Děkan, which can only be seen during the BIG/BÝT tour. Two singers, one band, alternating tracks and an atmosphere that filled the entire Karlín. Kuba Děkan opened the evening with his song Já vim, which immediately got the audience moving. Immediately afterwards, Pekař took the baton and responded with his hit Ještěže. From that moment on, it was clear that the evening had taken on a fast pace. The songs Bůh, Co bývalo není, Děda were performed. Then came the great moment of the evening – the guys created a mash-up of their most famous choruses from the songs Andělé, Kafe, Pavučina, Kámen, Manifest, Hrdá, Ráno.
And although it was an evening marked by the fight for the golden belt, there was no shortage of shoving between the singers. Pekař accused Děkan of throwing CDs into the audience to attract fans. Děkan reciprocated with jokes. The climax came when Kuba Ryba appeared on stage during the Dance and joined them. The end of their joint performance was closed by the unexpected hit Kde si včera bol. At that moment, loud singing, dancing and applause filled the entire hall.
When the last notes died down, the moment of truth came. Manager Martin returned to the stage to start the final voting. At that moment, the audience was given a clear task - to decide who would win in Prague - Pekař or Kuba Děkan? The decision was made based on who would have the louder audience. Prague chose Pekař and he won the golden belt. The score was thus leveled at 2:2 and the tension was growing - the singers still have two duels ahead of them and no one knows whether it will end in a draw or one of them will triumph.
Rybičky 48 then started the concert right from the first beat – with an intro in the form of Kuba's Mantra. As soon as the curtain fell – a real rock'n'roll began with the song BIG/BÝT. Fire, singing, dancing and applause poured through the hall. The novelty of the BIG/BÝT tour was that for the first time in history the band played the entire album live, song by song. In addition to the new songs, older hits that fans love were also performed. One of the first was Já dneska slavím, during which Holki appeared on stage and sang along with the band. The songs Magdaléna, Vážené damy, Kdo ví were also performed. When Chtyl jsme tim tétří, Jakub Děkan and Pekař arrived on stage – the fans literally exploded with enthusiasm.
A touching and at the same time magical moment was the moment when Kuba's son Lemmy stood on stage. The innocent question "Kam jdeš?" was asked. and Kuba answered him with a smile: "On stage." It was absolutely fascinating to watch Kuba take his son with him, and the moment added an unexpected intimacy and warmth to the evening that filled the hall with emotion and applause.
And then came the moment that the entire Forum Karlín had been waiting for from the first second of the evening. Not only the reason why the concert was held, but also the moment that will go down in Rybiček 48's history, the debut of the BIG/BÝT album. All the lights were directed at the stage, the hall fell silent in tense anticipation. Ota Váňa from Kabát, a legendary figure of the Czech rock scene, entered the stage. Ota took the floor and announced that he would christen the album with rum - referring to rock great Ozzy Osbourne. The christening itself was intense. Rum flowed down the album, the lights were shining, the audience screamed and the band stood on stage like winners. It was raw, real and emotional. And then came the moment that no one expected – guitarist Peťa Lebeda took the christened record and threw it into the crowd. One chosen fan took home a unique souvenir that will forever be associated with this exceptional evening. The evening was not over yet – the presentation of the platinum records for the BIG/BÝT album came. At the first stop in Brno, the band received a gold record for the album and less than a month later received a platinum one. Milan Cimfe and Filip Vlček also arrived on stage at this moment. The fans screamed, applauded, chanted. The band was visibly moved. The highlight of the evening. And an honor — not only for Rybičky, but also for everyone who was part of this ride. The album's christening became the strongest, loudest, most emotional and most important moment of the entire concert.
After the christening, the band returned to the stage and set off on a wild ride. The songs Stinky Life, Emily, Kámo, Léto 2 were played, during which guests Pekař and Jimmy Vošoust were introduced again, and the audience fell into euphoria again. During the song Sofie, Filip Vlček joined the band and supported the band on bass and vocals. During Slibují še budu píře se, a fan named Dominik was given the stage, who said he would like to play with the band. And not only did he play - he absolutely nailed it. He showed confidence, energy and played his life's moment in front of a sold-out Karlín.
After the wild ride, the band took a short break, during which they announced to their fans the next Mega Concerts planned for May 2026 in Kutná Hora. It was reported that these could be the last mega concerts, and they also plan to announce a "new chapter". Those who buy tickets for both days will receive a special surprise directly to their email on Christmas Eve.
Then came the moment that took the whole evening to another dimension – Nebeská prána. Kuba asked for the hall to be turned off, and the fans turned on their phones. He knelt in the middle of the stage and the most touching moment of the evening began. The atmosphere thickened, everyone's heart stopped and everyone perceived the words of the song. Kuba shed a few tears while singing, and the accompaniment of the Eterea Trio gave the song an unforgettable touch.
Even after this emotional peak, Rybičky immediately returned to their classic ride. The songs Zamilovaný & Nešťastný, Ouuu came on. The final explosion of energy came with the song Horník, when Kuba pulled out his bass guitar with a flamethrower attached to it onto the stage. The whole of Karlín was just amazed – fire, screaming, singing and dancing spread throughout the hall. Other hits followed: Američan z Poličan, Tohle je rock'n'roll vy buzny and My ještě nejsme starý.
And that's exactly what it was about – Rybičky 48 performed a show full of fire, pyrotechnics and hits, proving that rock'n'roll is still alive. They showed that they are not "old", but on the contrary, they can still play a concert that will be remembered by everyone. Huge thanks to the band and all the fans who helped sell out this exceptional evening.
