The Shape of Blue: Arankai Release Their New Album

Arankai is an increasingly popular solo music project created by American musician and vocalist Oscar Porter. His music combines elements of nu metal, metalcore, trap metal and alternative rock, blending melodic vocals, rap and screams. He launched the project in 2022, signed with Hopeless Records last year and released his debut album A Portrait of Red.

As you can see, Arankai is not slowing down. He has now announced his second album, The Shape of Blue, which will be released on October 30, 2026, once again via Hopeless Records. The album is already available to pre-save on Spotify or pre-order physically on vinyl directly through the label's website. To introduce the upcoming record, Arankai has just released the new single I Hope It Hurts. He describes the track as a "blend of hardcore riffs and vocals featuring elements of punk and pop." The previously released single Helter Skelter is also already out.

Speaking about the album, the artist said: "The Shape of Blue, much like its predecessor A Portrait of Red, covers a range of human experiences: rebellion, pride, sacrifice and many others. I usually draw from my own personal experiences, but with this particular album, I found myself writing songs that reflected specific situations involving other people – often just a powerful moment that inspired me. I really wanted this album to be something special. I did a lot of things I hadn't done before – for example, writing songs in styles that were completely new to me. I believe The Shape of Blue is a powerful and emotional piece of work, and I hope people enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it."

Although he has not performed in the Czech Republic yet, that is about to change. Arankai will make his Czech live debut at Prague's Rock Café on February 24, 2027, where he will appear as a special guest of Australian rock outfit Melrose Avenue as part of their Melrose Avenue UK/EU Headline Tour.
