The Nová Spirála came to life with the biggest acoustic performance of Imodia

On the last Wednesday in October, the Nová Spirála space at the Holešovice Exhibition Center came alive with an acoustic performance by the band Imodium. It was their biggest acoustic set yet, and the chosen space was an absolutely ideal choice for this evening.

The Spirála has a circular hall with a rotating stage, the audience sits in slowly rising rows. Since the stage rotated and moved in different directions, it was impossible for the audience to have the band only with their backs to each other. The great theater acoustics and the dynamics of the individual unplugged arrangements were complemented by a well-developed lighting design.

The band's setlist was a "best of" cross-section of the entire discography, and even songs that they don't play much anymore were played - of course, also in an adjusted unplugged form. The standard band line-up was strengthened by several other musicians, we welcomed the Corvus Quartet, Tokhi (percussion), pianist Ondřej Potužník and vocalists Veronika Hložková and Hanka Kosnovská to the stage.

Specially arranged arrangements included "Severnské mosty," "Kluci nepláčou," "Vlčí doupě," "Divoká řeka," or "Lampy," during which fans' mobile phones lit up in the auditorium. The musicians also invited several special guests to this evening. Jakub König was the first to arrive, who sang his song "Sudety" with the band, which gradually transitioned into the song "Svět bez pravidel." Eva Burešová also arrived, in her words, to recall her "emo period" with the song "Žiletko, má lásko." And what would the Nová spirála be without Jesus? Therefore, it is not surprising that the unique Czech Jesus Kamil Střihavka did not miss the evening and arrived here in person after years. He accepted the band's invitation to return to the place of his youth and sang the song "Jak ze sna procitám." Then, wanting to reach the younger generation, they invited Tereza Balonová to the stage. She and the band cut the song "60 minutes."

As an encore (although they did not leave the stage), "Nebe nad Berlínem" and "Deset životů" were performed. This was followed, as is customary in theaters, by a standing ovation and enthusiastic applause from the fans.

After the event, there was an opportunity to visit the official afterparty held in the small hall of the theater. DJ Ronoon & Michael provided the entertainment.

Thank you for a great, unconventional experience and we hope this is not the band's last acoustic event.
