THE MISSION RETURN TO BRATISLAVA. BRITISH GOTHIC ROCK LEGENDS TO PERFORM IN MAY 2027

One of the most prominent bands on the British gothic rock scene, The Mission, are returning to Slovakia. Led by the charismatic Wayne Hussey, the band will perform on 8 May 2027 at the Majestic Music Club (MMC) in Bratislava. Fans can look forward to a concert filled with atmosphere, distinctive guitar melodies and songs that have become classics of the genre over nearly four decades.

The Mission were formed in 1986 in Leeds, England, after guitarist and vocalist Wayne Hussey and bassist Craig Adams left The Sisters of Mercy. Together with Simon Hinkler and drummer Mick Brown, they created a band that gradually developed its own distinctive sound and secured a prominent place on the post-punk and gothic rock scene. Their music combined atmospheric guitar textures with Hussey's emotive vocals and produced numerous songs that have since achieved cult status.

The debut album God's Own Medicine from 1986 featured the hits Wasteland and Severina and immediately highlighted the new band's potential. Two years later came the album Children, produced by John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, which included one of The Mission's best-known songs, Tower Of Strength. Another major milestone was the 1990 album Carved In Sand featuring the songs Butterfly On A Wheel and Deliverance.

Throughout their career, The Mission have released numerous successful albums, played sold-out concert tours around the world and twice headlined the legendary Reading Festival. Their songs have never been confined to a single musical genre; themes of love, loss, relationships and existential questions have resonated with generations of listeners.

After several line-up changes and a period of inactivity, The Mission returned to the stage. Since the end of the pandemic, they have toured extensively across Europe, the United Kingdom, Latin America and North America. The current line-up consists of Wayne Hussey (guitar, vocals), Craig Adams (bass), Simon Hinkler (guitar) and Alex Baum (drums).

The Bratislava concert will be an opportunity to experience live a band that has had a major influence on gothic and alternative rock, and whose music has lost none of its atmosphere or power even after decades.
