The Hrady CZ Music Festival Moves to Švihov This Friday and Saturday with Rybičky 48, Daniel Landa, Mirai and Mig 21
After Točník and Kunětická hora, the travelling Hrady CZ festival moves to Švihov near Klatovy on Friday and Saturday, 24 and 25 July. This unique music and cultural event, the only one of its kind, offers the perfect holiday combination – a musical experience in a magical setting, together with the opportunity to visit historic monuments. The Hrady CZ festival will then take place every Friday and Saturday, visiting Hluboká nad Vltavou for the first time this year, followed by Veveří, Hradec nad Moravicí and Bouzov, before concluding its 21st tour on 29 and 30 August at Bezděz. On Friday in Švihov, the line-up includes Rybičky 48 and Mig 21, as well as rapper Rytmus. On Saturday, visitors can look forward to exclusive extended sets by Mirai and Daniel Landa, along with Vypsaná Fixa, Lenny and Tomáš Klus.
The Hrady CZ festival ticket includes a free tour of Švihov Water Castle on Saturday afternoon, naturally subject to the monument's capacity.
On Friday, the two-stage site in the meadows behind Švihov railway station will open at 3:30 p.m. Trautenberk, the musically inventive Grey256 and pop band Vega Elektra will get the audience dancing. The traditional and largest castle costume carnival, held as part of the programme at 7:30 p.m., celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Everyone who comes onto the stage in costume will receive a prize. At every Hrady CZ festival stop, cheering from the crowd will decide the three best costumes, which will advance to the grand final, with the winner announced on 17 November 2026. The main prize for the overall winner will be free tickets to next year's festival and various other prizes.
On Saturday, the site overlooking Švihov Water Castle will open to visitors at 10:30 a.m. Fans can also look forward to crazy-rock band Harlej, crossover group Krucipüsk, combining metal, rock and punk; singer-songwriter Xindl X, alternative pop outfit Brixtn with its new single Náhubek; and Adaline, appearing at Hrady CZ for the first time with a 1990s sound.
"I'm incredibly excited about Hrady CZ this year; it's our favourite festival. I'm delighted that we're playing there again with the full band. Our drummer will be pulling double duty—first with us and then later in the evening with Dan Landa. We will definitely go to watch and support him as a band," says singer Xindl X.
Festival organisers are once again working with the National Heritage Institute. On Saturday afternoon, visitors with a festival ticket will be able to take the Švihov castle tours free of charge, subject to the monument's capacity. In addition to a varied selection of food and drink, all festival sites will for the first time feature a traditional pub with covered seating and draught beer served in glasses, a family zone with a bouncy castle for children, a Playhouse tent with gaming activities offering a break from the festival bustle, shaded chill-out zones with loungers and a misting system, and other leisure activities. Creatively minded visitors can enter a photo competition for valuable prizes. Photos from this year's festival can be uploaded directly from the venue using the QR code in the festival brochure, available on site. Payments at the festival will once again be handled through a cashless system using rechargeable wristbands; no other form of payment will be accepted.
Švihov Water Castle lies on the route between Plzeň and Klatovy. The castle can be reached by car via road 27, which runs from Plzeň to Klatovy, and is also easily accessible by train. The station is Švihov, and the festival site is located very close to the railway station.
Accommodation at all Hrady CZ festival stops is available in three categories. The highest level of comfort is offered by the VIP Camp PLUS of "hotel standard", which includes a pre-pitched tent, two or four comfortable sleeping mats and sleeping bags, as well as upgraded sanitary facilities (flush toilets and showers) and a reception desk. The mid-range option is the VIP Camp, comparable to a modern campsite, with showers and flush toilets, a 24-hour reception, cleaning and catering services. Visitors can still use the standard tent town free of charge, equipped with toilets, drinking water and waste bins. Bicycle and luggage storage and phone-charging points will also be available. Capacity in both the VIP Camp and VIP Camp PLUS is limited.
