The band ZakazanÝovoce presents the animated video for Jack & Sally. The song, which has been waiting for release for 11 years, opens the era of the new album Mezi láskou a nenávistí
The band zakazanÝovoce released a new single and video clip Jack & Sally on Friday, December 12, 2025. The song is part of the band's upcoming eighth album, Mezi láskou a nenavistí, which will be released on January 23, 2026.
The video clip Jack & Sally is the first ever animated clip in the band's history. It draws freely from the visual world of iconic cartoon characters that have influenced global pop culture for over three decades. "We wanted to create something that would be completely new for us. We had never done a Christmas theme before, and the animated form allowed us to push our imagination a bit further. Jack & Sally is a double first for us - the first Christmas song the band has released and the first animated video clip we have ever made," says Jaroslav "Yaris" Sládeček.
The song itself was created in 2014 and was intended for the album Automat na lásku. However, it was not released at the time. "The song Jack & Sally was originally written in 2014 and was supposed to appear on the album Automat na lásku. But fate had other plans, and the song was slightly rewritten under the producer Tomáš Fröde. In the end, it became one of the band's biggest hits, called Zastávka na znamě." says Yaris. After more than 11 years, this idea has finally matured and the song will appear on the album Mezi láskou a nenavistí, where it will fit in perfectly.
The new album was created under the producer's supervision of Honza Chudan from the band Škwor. After 9 long years, it reunites the two founding members - Jaroslav "Yaris" Sládeček and Štěpán Soukup - as authors. "It's been 9 long years since Štěpán and I released our joint album Díky Vám!, which was certainly a breakthrough. Not only did the album in 2016 confirm that ZakázanÝovoce had not yet said its last word, but over the past 9 years it has become the band's most played album on streaming platforms," says Yaris, adding that the singles Město andělů, Díky vám!, Probdělý noci or Někdo jako ty have become evergreens for fans.
In addition to Jack & Sally, the new album will also feature the already released singles Miami, Drobný számky, Horký maliny and the ballad Nepřestanem snít. The limited Christmas pre-order of the album runs until December 17, 2025, after which the album will be available in regular pre-order until the release date.
ABOUT THE BAND
The group ZakázanÝovoce has been active on the Czech rock scene since 2005. Since then, they have played more than 1,200 concerts. The band is behind the singles Alkoholka, Nech mě odejít, Vem si mě, Město andělů, Horký maliny, Miami, Drobný nedostatky or Nepřestanem snít. In 2017, it performed as the main guest at 25 stops of the Horkýže Slíže band's annual tour and over the years has also collaborated with the bands Harlej or Totální nasadů. In 2023, founding guitarist Štěpán Soukup returned to the lineup, who, together with Jaroslav "Yaris" Sládeček, forms the core of the band.
