SOULFLY ignite "Chama" – Max Cavalera is back in full force!

Max Cavalera returns to rawness and instinct with SOULFLY. "It's not about returning to sound, it's about attitude. It's punk at its core. I scream the words because I believe them," says Max - and that's exactly the feeling that "Chama" brings.

The record is shorter, punchy songs and no unnecessary frills. "Storm The Gates", "Nihilist" or "No Pain = No Power" (with guests Dino Cazares, Gabe Franco and Ben Cook) stomp hard and remind us why Max is still the king of groove metal. At the other end of the spectrum is the chaotic "Ghenna", which Max describes as "total mindfu*k - no verses, no choruses".

The sound? Recorded at Platinum Underground (Mesa, Arizona) under the supervision of Zyon Cavalera and Arthur Rizk, bass recorded by Igor Amadeus Cavalera, second guitar by Mike De Leon, cover art by Carletta Parrish.

SOULFLY line-up on "Chama"
Max Cavalera – vocals, guitar
Igor Amadeus Cavalera – bass
Zyon Cavalera – drums
Mike De Leon – guitar

Max adds: "Some of the riffs were created on the fly. Without thinking, without polishing." And that's exactly what you can feel - the energy and rawness of the record cannot be denied. "Chama" is a short, hard and straightforward record. SOULFLY sounds hungry and with heart - exactly as fans remember. Today it is worth turning on the speakers and letting yourself be carried away by the flame of Max Cavalera.
