Sadistic Fest Vol. 4 – Třtěnice Once Again in the Grip of Extreme Metal

19/06/2026

On June 12, 2026, Třtěnice once again became a sanctuary of extreme metal. Over the past few years, Sadistic Fest has established itself as one of the most interesting underground festivals in the Czech Republic, and this year's edition only confirmed that status. Behind the entire event stands the enormous dedication of local bands Sadistic Hannibal and Dysangelium, who prove every year that the metal community can create an event with professional organization while preserving a true underground spirit.

One of the main attractions of this year's edition was undoubtedly the Serbian death/thrash metal machine Infest. The band was formed in 2002 and, over more than twenty years of existence, has completed over fifteen European tours, released seven full-length albums, and established itself among the most respected names on the Balkan extreme metal scene. Their uncompromising combination of death metal and thrash metal, crushing riffs, and massive live energy made them one of the most anticipated bands of the entire festival.

From the very first notes, it was clear that a proper metal storm was brewing in Třtěnice. The fans created a fantastic atmosphere, the bands gave their all on stage, and the entire venue literally breathed devotion to extreme music. Sadistic Fest once again confirmed that it belongs among the events no underground metal fan should overlook.

Another attraction that you will not see at other festivals was the executioner's performance. Visitors could try out swords and torture devices. It was a very fitting addition to the festival's name. The attraction is called Veselá Mučírna, and it can be booked for any event. More information can be found at www.veselamucirna.com.

Thanks to the covered venue, the weather was not an issue. Although it rained throughout the entire festival, everyone stayed completely dry and it was great. This concert was also an important one for Sadistic Hannibal, as it marked the final performance of the band's frontman and vocalist Martin Tomíček, one of the founding members.

Now let's take a look at the individual band performances that took place during the festival.

At exactly 11:30 a.m., the gates of hell opened and the venue in Třtěnice slowly began to absorb the first fans of extreme metal. Over the past few years, Sadistic Fest has built a reputation as an event focused primarily on honest underground values, a strong community, and uncompromising music. This year's edition was no exception. On the contrary, it offered one of the strongest line-ups in the festival's history, a farewell to a prominent figure of the Czech scene, and the first international band in the festival's history.

Genothyp delivered the first blow. Playing the opening set is never easy, especially when visitors are still arriving at the venue. The band handled it more than well. From the very first minutes, energy burst from the stage in every direction, making it clear that Genothyp had not come just to play their slot. Their performance had drive, commitment, and the necessary dose of chaos that perfectly tuned the audience for the entire festival day.

Scabbard followed. Despite performing without a live drummer and using sampled drums, it was impossible to notice any difference in the overall impression. Their set had real power and gradually attracted more and more people in front of the stage. In addition, heavy rain arrived during the concert, adding an almost cinematic atmosphere to their dark music. Scabbard unleashed a storm not only musically, but literally above the venue as well.

When Belly Error took the stage, the sky calmed down again. The Moravian band delivered one of the wildest performances of the afternoon. Brutal death metal, lyrics inspired by real criminal cases, and the incredible commitment of the entire band created an explosive combination. The highlight came when the vocalist jumped into the crowd and continued singing directly in the pit. The audience reacted exactly as expected—with absolute madness.

Sectesy then reminded everyone why they belong among the pillars of Czech death metal. Their old-school approach, solid riffs, and distinctive vocals worked perfectly. Fans of classic death metal got exactly what they came for, and things started heating up in front of the stage. The band is also among the festival organizers, so it was clear they were playing on home turf.

An emotional moment came with Sadistic Hannibal. The main organizing band played their final concert with their long-time frontman Martin Tomíček. Songs such as Sadistův chlév and Upálení na hranici got the entire venue moving, and it was obvious that the audience wanted to enjoy the farewell to the fullest. The atmosphere was emotional at times and absolutely wild at others. When, during the song Naražení na kůl, the executioner appeared on stage with a skeleton, it became clear that this concert would be remembered for a long time.

Pikodeath then took over and immediately launched another death metal assault. The vocalist, with his demonic voice, repeatedly left the stage and joined the fans, partying and singing alongside them. These are exactly the moments that create festival memories people remember far longer than the setlist itself.

Dysangelium, the second organizing band, confirmed their uncompromising reputation. A massive mosh pit erupted in front of the stage, and many fans sang the lyrics along with the band. Energy flowed in both directions, and it was clear that both the musicians and the audience were enjoying the concert. This is exactly what a death metal celebration should look like.

Then came Czech death metal legends Fleshless. The band made up for last year's complications and delivered a set that ranked among the highlights of the entire festival. Their raw sound, experience, and uncompromising performance sent the audience into complete euphoria. Třtěnice literally shook under the assault of riffs, and the mosh pit in front of the stage resembled a war zone.

A historic moment came with the Serbian band Infest. The first international band in Sadistic Fest history proved that the organizers have a great eye for choosing names. Their concert had enormous power, and the audience rewarded the band with well-deserved enthusiasm. If anyone had doubts about inviting an international guest, they disappeared completely after this performance.

Legion delivered the final touch to the entire festival. Although visitors had already experienced a long day full of music, the atmosphere in front of the stage remained fantastic. The precise performance of the entire band, especially their incredibly accurate drummer, ensured a fitting conclusion to this year's edition.

Sadistic Fest 2026 once again showed why it has built such a strong reputation among fans of extreme metal. The festival offered a diverse line-up, an excellent atmosphere, powerful performances, and several unforgettable moments. The courage of the organizers to bring in the festival's first international band was also appreciated, and the gamble definitely paid off.

The organization of the entire event deserves great praise. Despite bad weather during part of the programme, everything worked smoothly, and visitors were able to enjoy a day full of musical violence in the best possible sense of the word. The sound was very solid for most of the day, and the bands had enough space to showcase their full strength.

This year's edition was not just another continuation of an established tradition. It was confirmation that Sadistic Fest belongs among the most interesting domestic festivals focused on death and thrash metal. If the organizers maintain the standard they have set, fans have every reason to look forward to future editions.
