Prasofest 2026: A Festival People Don't Attend Just for the Music

There are festivals people attend because of a favourite band, listen to a few concerts, and by the next day all that remains are photographs on their phone. And then there are festivals people return to year after year mainly because of the atmosphere. Prasofest is one of them. Over the years, it has earned a firm place among the favourite events of fans of the Czech rock, punk and metal scenes.
It is not just about the line-up. It is about the friendly atmosphere, familiar faces meeting again in front of the stage after a year, honest music and the feeling that, for one day, everyone can switch off from their everyday worries. As soon as the gates opened, it was clear that another day full of music and unforgettable experiences lay ahead of us.
Just fourteen days before the festival, some unpleasant news arrived. Due to technical reasons, Henych 666 had to cancel their appearance. However, the organisers reacted quickly and found an excellent replacement in Jacker's. They rose to the occasion brilliantly and showed that they were certainly not there merely to make up the numbers at Prasofest.
There was no shortage of drama on the day of the festival either. Dukla Vozovna's van broke down on the D11 motorway on their way to the festival, so the timetable had to be changed. However, the organisers handled the situation brilliantly, and the entire programme went ahead with virtually no major complications.
From the very first concerts, it was clear that this year's edition would be exceptional. Pogoing broke out in front of the stage for practically every band, and the energy among the fans was incredible.
S.P.S. deserve enormous respect, not only for their excellent concert, but also for their attitude. During the show, they repeatedly called on fans to support every band at the festival. This is exactly what a music community should look like.
One of the highlights of the day was Morčata na útěku. As soon as their biggest hits began, it felt as though the entire site was singing. The choruses echoed through the crowd, and the atmosphere in front of the stage was unbelievable.
However, this year's Prasofest did not have a single weak point. Elektrïck Mann, Cocotte Minute, Driák, Morčata na útěku, S.P.S., Jacker's, Dukla Vozovna, V3SKA and Pub Kings delivered performances that entertained from the opening notes to the final encore. Every band gave the show everything they had, and the fans responded with loud singing, applause and almost non-stop pogoing.
And as is always the case at a proper festival, not everyone went home without a few battle scars. Personally, I left Prasofest with a thoroughly battered body after a full day of pogoing. Above all, however, I went home happy, just like hundreds of other visitors.
Prasofest 2026 once again confirmed that it is about more than just music. It is a place where friends meet, where people enjoy every concert regardless of style, and where memories are made to last a lifetime. If next year's edition is as successful as this one, we really have something to look forward to.
