Plzeň will shake to its foundations: Sabaton will kick off the metal celebrations

08/05/2026

The Swedish power/heavy metal band Sabaton is returning to the Czech Republic after last year's success in Ostrava (at Ostravar Arena), this time to the opposite side of the country – to Plzeň. This West Bohemian metropolis is strongly connected with metal music and, thanks to the annual Metalfest festival, is known all across Europe.

And Sabaton will perform at the very same place – the natural amphitheatre Lochotín. They will arrive on June 3, 2026, effectively kicking off a week of summer metal celebrations at the amphitheatre – as the already mentioned Metalfest begins there the very same weekend.

Moreover, this year they are preparing a completely new production, the dominant feature of which will be a large tank. At the same time, the setlist will be completely changed compared to previous performances. It will be a perfect show that will both surprise and impress. With their current album Legends, released last autumn, they are opening a brand-new chapter of their artistic era. And Sabaton certainly will not be alone in this – they are bringing many special guests: singer Floor Jansen, Swedish band Majestica, and Israeli group Scardust.

Floor Jansen is a very versatile singer and the frontwoman of the Finnish band Nightwish, who are currently taking a break from touring. In this case, however, we will have the chance to hear several Nightwish hits performed directly by her. The singer also has a well-developed solo career, which she will surely be happy to present to us.

Meanwhile, the Swedish power metal missile Majestica will bring their third studio album Power Train, which was released already last February, but is definitely still fresh enough for them to build an epic show around its riffs and choruses.

The final guest will be the progressive symphonic metal band Scardust from Israel. They are certainly no newcomers on the battlefield, having been active for more than ten years and becoming known for combining orchestral arrangements and distinctive female vocals with technically demanding metal.

And what does all this mean? That it would probably be a great idea to extend your metal stay in Plzeň by a few extra days. We truly believe it will definitely be worth it.
