Music from the Inferno: FAUSTOVY HRAČKY Sign a Pact with Smile Music Records in Their Own Blood
Label Smile Music Records is expanding its roster with FAUSTOVY HRAČKY, the musical brainchild of Dan "Faust" Hnidka, with whom the label has signed a deal for the band's debut album. The band is defined by its dark aesthetic, catchy rock melodies and a strong emphasis on authenticity.
"FAUSTOVY HRAČKY are a wonderfully disgusting mix of everything I wanted and didn't want," says the band's frontman Dan Faust. Contrasts are one of the project's key principles: a dark and rough-edged image meets catchy melodies, while tongue-in-cheek humour collides with personal stories.
Lyrics are just as important to FAUSTOVY HRAČKY as the music itself. They draw exclusively on personal experience: "I would never tackle something I know absolutely nothing about. Listeners aren't stupid – they'd know," Dan Faust adds. "Above all, I'd like listeners to take away the feeling that music doesn't rely on samples, it doesn't have to be perfect, and that's absolutely fine," he continues. The band's music is a painstakingly crafted creation of multi-instrumentalist Dan Faust, with the album deliberately recorded step by step in home conditions, including its artwork. The final mix and mastering were handled by Rommuald Klemm, while the band's videos are directed by Tom Tejkl.
FAUSTOVY HRAČKY have released just one single so far, Karolína, which serves as a teaser for their debut album, Vlci a prasatas. The record will be released by Smile Music Records, with whom the band has just signed a pact in their own blood: "I'm really looking forward to working together, and I'm very happy that we can start right from the first album. The past two years have been extremely tough, but it was worth hanging in there. Now the time has finally come to open our little gateway to Hell and unleash its evil upon our listeners," concludes Dan Faust. For now, FAUSTOVY HRAČKY remain a solo project, but a lineup of musicians is already taking shape around Dan Faust, and he hopes to hit the stage with them as soon as possible. Live shows are set to be just as important to FAUSTOVY HRAČKY as the album itself. Faust promises not only music, but a full-blown hellish spectacle as well.
