MUDFEST III returns to Louny: leave the mud at home, a metal onslaught awaits in Stromovka

Get your calendars out, pull those metal shirts from the wardrobe, and make sure you do not plan anything else for 22 May 2027. From 1:00 PM, Stromovka in Louny will once again belong to MUDFEST, and the third edition is already making one thing clear: this will be anything but a quiet walk in the park.

MUDFEST may still be a young festival, but it certainly does not look like it wants to stand cautiously at the edge of the stage. After two editions, it is returning for a third time and once again betting on what suits it best: heavy music, several branches of metal in one place, and the Stromovka grounds, where fans can get much closer to the bands than from the back row of a huge arena. So forget the binoculars, the riffs will be coming at you from up close.

The organisers have already started revealing their first cards, and they certainly have not pulled any twos. Legendary death metal band MASTER in its American-Czech incarnation will arrive in Louny, along with Portugal's GODIVA, while Slovakia's MOHYLA has also confirmed its appearance. If this is only the warm-up, Stromovka is going to need some seriously solid foundations in May. The organisers are set to reveal more names gradually, so the line-up definitely has not said its final word yet.And of course, the organizing band ARAWN.

And now for the part that usually hurts the wallet. So far, though, this one looks pretty friendly. Advance tickets cost CZK 500, admission at the venue will be CZK 600, and children under 15 get in free. Advance sales are already underway, so if you would rather have your ticket safely in your pocket than cast a nervous glance at the box office on festival day, you can get one May worry out of the way right now.

So what does all this mean? No big family visits on 22 May, the lawn can wait another day, and the sofa is not going anywhere. Stromovka will be loud, and if the line-up keeps growing in this direction, the third MUDFEST could turn into a very enjoyable opening to the outdoor metal season.
