Prague will become the venue for one of the most anticipated metal events of the winter in February 2027. The legendary Italian formation Rhapsody of Fire will perform on February 4, 2027, at Futurum Music Bar in Prague as part of the prestigious Motocultor Across Europe Tour 2027, which will unite metal fans across the entire continent.
The main stars of this impressive line-up will be Rhapsody of Fire themselves, who will celebrate 30 years of existence on European stages. For this occasion, the band is preparing a special concert setlist mapping the most important moments of their rich career.
Fans can look forward to a monumental journey through iconic songs, cinematic orchestrations, heroic stories, and the virtuoso musical precision that made the Italian band famous all over the world.
Cult saga
Rhapsody of Fire have been among the most prominent names of symphonic power metal since the mid-1990s. The group was formed in 1993 under the name Thundercross, changed its name to Rhapsody two years later, and almost immediately defined the shape of the genre by combining heavy metal, classical music, and fantasy elements. Their debut Legendary Tales from 1997 launched the now cult Emerald Sword saga, which became one of the most iconic concepts in the history of power metal.
A significant chapter in the band's history came in 2006, when the members were forced to change the name from Rhapsody to Rhapsody of Fire for legal reasons. Although initially controversial, the band managed to maintain both its identity and strong fanbase under the new name and continued releasing ambitious albums.
Several line-up changes
The unmistakable sound of the band was primarily shaped by guitarist Luca Turilli and keyboardist Alex Staropoli, who managed to combine cinematic grandeur with extreme technical precision. Luca Turilli went his own way in 2011, leaving Alex Staropoli as the only original member of the group.
Another defining figure of the band's golden era was charismatic singer Fabio Lione, whose voice defined the classic albums and became synonymous with epic power metal. His departure in 2016 marked a major turning point for fans, but at the same time opened a new stage in the band's evolution.
He was replaced as frontman by current singer Giacomo Voli, who brought new energy into the band while also successfully continuing the strong legacy of his predecessor. Rhapsody of Fire subsequently demonstrated the ability to continue without nostalgic stagnation and, even with new members, preserved their characteristic atmosphere, melodicism, and monumental sound.
During their career, the band also collaborated with legendary actor Christopher Lee, whose iconic voice gave their recordings an unforgettable atmosphere. Even after several line-up changes, Rhapsody of Fire have maintained the status of a respected band. Their concerts are known for grand production, epic atmosphere, and warm interaction with the audience, which regularly transforms into one voice singing hymnic choruses.
Other performers
The unforgettable February evening will also feature other prominent names from the current metal scene. German melodic metallers Serious Black will bring an energetic combination of modern power metal, strong choruses, and dynamic live energy. A darker and more theatrical atmosphere will be delivered by Swiss formation Silver Dust, known for its visually impressive performances and original combination of gothic rock and metal. The line-up will also include Greek power metal band Aeon Gods and symphonic metal formation Melodius Deite.
The tour will begin on January 7 and, during one month, will pass through eleven European countries. The Prague stop already ranks among the highlights of the entire route. The evening of February 4, 2027, at Futurum Music Bar will therefore not be just an ordinary concert, but a grand celebration of three decades of one of the world's most influential symphonic metal bands. Fans can expect a night full of fantasy atmosphere, massive orchestrations, outstanding individual performances, and metal energy.
