MONOLICHT TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE “LORD OF THE FLIES” ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2026

Finnish dark metal band MONOLICHT will release its new single Lord of the Flies on Friday, September 18, 2026, across all major streaming platforms. The new track represents the heaviest, most aggressive, and most direct side of the band's music to date. An official music video will be released alongside the single.
Throughout their previous releases, MONOLICHT have combined melancholic dark metal, powerful melodies, and cinematic soundscapes. The new single retains the defining elements of the band's sound while pushing their music into significantly heavier and more uncompromising territory.
Lord of the Flies draws inspiration from themes of decay, corruption, and the darkest aspects of human nature. Musically, the track moves between melodic death metal, black metal, and dark metal.
Heavy guitar riffs, a cold atmosphere, and strong melodic lines create a striking contrast between MONOLICHT's characteristic melancholy and the most direct metallic assault the band has delivered so far.
"We wanted to preserve the melancholy and atmosphere that are central to MONOLICHT, while taking our sound in a heavier and more relentless direction. Lord of the Flies is probably the most direct and aggressive song we have written so far," the band explains.
The dark world of the song is further expanded through the accompanying music video, whose visual imagery closely reflects the track's themes and bleak atmosphere.
Fans of bands such as Mgła, Watain, Gaerea, or the early work of Tribulation may find familiar elements in MONOLICHT's music. At the same time, the Finnish band continues to forge its own identity through a combination of dark soundscapes, strong melodies, and a distinctly cinematic atmosphere.
The new single Lord of the Flies will be released on September 18, 2026, across all major streaming platforms together with an official music video.
