Love in Buena: The fan bus unfortunately didn’t arrive, but Bára Zemanová handled it nonetheless

On Friday, March 20, an intimate concert by singer-songwriter Láska took place at the small club Buena Vista in Plzeň. And he did not perform entirely alone—he invited the talented Plzeň-based rock singer Bára Zemanová as a guest, who joined him for several songs.

The evening began shortly after eight o'clock with his traditional "intro" featuring songs about love. The space filled with choruses containing the word "love." The mix included, for example, Už mi lásko není 20 let, Čau lásko, Láska je tu s námi, Ještě že tě lásko mám, Lásko má já stůňu and Láska je kurva. This created a great atmosphere.

Although Buena was not completely sold out, the visitors were not discouraged and applauded all the more. In any case, the bus full of fans must have simply failed to arrive because, as Láska aptly remarked, diesel prices had gone up. The set opened with the song Hipster v přechodu, followed by Domek. At that point it was necessary to add a few drum hits into the looper, since this companion is easier to maintain than a drummer (it doesn't require money and doesn't smell as much). Dokonalá was also played, about which the singer said the title Ty jsi snad úplně blbá had not quite made it through. The audience clapped along to the rhythm—apparently they were the best fans Láska had played for (today).

Bára Zemanová was then invited onto the stage, and their joint performance began with the duet Zamilovaný – nešťastná, which is nothing new for the singer. They then performed Dva z jiný planety, where Bára replaced Marie Tilšarová, and Vrátit čas, where she stepped in for Kateřina Marie Fialová. Afterwards, we were able to immerse ourselves for a few minutes in an American romantic idyll when they substituted for Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in the hit Shallow.

Then came the final block of songs, during which Láska returned to performing only with the looper. With the song Všudebil, he wished a fan a happy birthday, and with Cesta by the band Kryštof he tried to get even the bar staff singing, since there is probably no one who doesn't know that song. We also remembered Chester, who would have celebrated his fiftieth birthday, as well as Chuck Norris up above. To close the set, he included the song Jako já.

There was also an encore—and although for a moment it seemed that only half of it would be played, in the end Mraky floated above our heads in full. At the very end, Always Remember was performed, followed only by a farewell with the originally delivered chorus "Zas přijde den kdy láska vrátí se k nám."

Thank you for a great, albeit somewhat intimate event. I believe that anyone who didn't stop by will now, while reading this article, regret it at least a little. If someone does feel sorry about missing it, they can return here again in less than a month, when Bára Zemanová opens the local stop of the new club festival Karmafest. Unfortunately, this time without Láska. And let's be honest—the world without love is just a little bit sad.
