LOU FANÁNEK HAGEN presents the retrospective album Lou Fanánek Hagen 60 with a new song and video, and looks ahead to a book

A prominent figure on the Czech music scene, Lou Fanánek Hagen, composer, lyricist, singer, writer and, above all, frontman of Tři sestry, releases the album Lou Fanánek Hagen 60. As of today, it is available on CD and LP from all good music stores and e-shops, as well as on digital platforms.

Lou Fanánek Hagen's first career-spanning album was created to mark his milestone birthday. The selection features songs from the Hagen Baden albums, several noteworthy tracks by Tři sestry, as well as selections from the albums Jevany and František z Braníka. Two guest appearances from albums by Alkehol and Monkey Business are joined by the exceptional inclusion of the songs Metro and Koněspřežná dráha from the project Cestování Prahou, which was spearheaded by František Sahula and was never widely distributed. Fanánek rounds off the retrospective album with the brand-new opus Moravian RapSchody.

The compilation was put together by the artist himself, who explains his curatorial approach as follows: "Putting the selection together was not easy – besides many successful songs with Tři sestry, there are two Hagen Baden albums, the record Jevany and František z Braníka. I could have put together several albums from those alone! In the end, I mainly chose lesser-known songs and songs created through collaborations with other bands and artists."

The new song Moravian RapSchody was written by Fanánek together with composers Filip Jelínek and Pavel Horák, and he also made a music video for it, which premiered together with the album release.

The front cover of the album LFH 60 is designed in the same style as Fanánek's first album Lou Fanánek Hagen Baden, featuring the iconic blue photographic portrait. Photographer František Ortmann recreated the portrait 34 years later in the same way, this time in a striking black-and-white version.

On October 2, the monograph Lou Fanánek Hagen with the subtitle Život je takovej a jinej nebude, created by Jakub Malovaný, will be released. In addition to its main subject, the book gives voice to long-forgotten archival materials as well as important people Fanánek has met throughout his life.
