Left To Die Announce New Album Initium Mortis

Death metal supergroup Left to Die - formed as a tribute to the legendary Death - have signed a new deal with Relapse Records. Their brand-new record Initium Mortis is set to be released on July 17, 2026.

The lineup features bassist Terry Butler and guitarist Rick Rozz, both former members of Death, alongside guitarist and vocalist Matt Harvey and drummer Gus Rios, who are both founders and members of the U.S. death metal band Gruesome.

The album is introduced by the first single Archangel, which Terry Butler describes as the perfect way to set the tone for the record - "controlled chaos in its finest form, catchy riffs blended with a dark, almost murderous midsection."

Initium Mortis will be available on CD, vinyl, cassette, and digital formats, and is already available for pre-order via Relapse Records. Featuring tracks like Archangel and Witch of Hell, the album is shaping up to be essential listening for death metal fans — especially those who worship the legacy of Death.
