KATAKLYSM ANNOUNCED AS ONE OF THE HEADLINERS OF METALGATE CZECH DEATH FEST 2027

14/09/2026

The 18th edition of the metal festival held in the foothills of the Krkonoše Mountains has announced its first headliner: Canadian extreme metal giants KATAKLYSM. At the same time, the festival would like to thank its fans for their support and understanding following the unfortunate ending of last year's edition.

As this is the first announcement concerning this year's MGCDF, we would first like to thank all our fans for the tremendous amount of support and understanding they showed after the premature end of last year's festival. The final part of the event was unfortunately brought to an early close by the convergence of three local storms. Thankfully, the situation ended without any serious injuries, which means we will all be able to meet again at Broďák. And now, on to the bands.

In 1992, amid the cold winds of Montreal, Canada, one of the country's finest extreme metal exports was born KATAKLYSM. Their relentless determination, strong work ethic and musical vision have turned them into legends of extreme metal and helped them define their own uncompromising style known as "Northern Hyperblast." Over a career spanning more than three decades, they have conquered stages across Europe, North and South America, Australia, Asia and even South Africa.

The Canadian melodic death metal syndicate returns to the Czech Republic with renewed strength, emerging from the "shadows and dust" of humanity's crumbling existence with the album Goliath. Following its predecessor Unconquered, the record continues the modernization of the band's sound with another relentless wave of massive production while adding a fresh dose of furious energy.Prepare yourselves for a sonic "embrace of destruction" and a mosh pit you will not soon forget.

Unconquered, unbroken, and strong as Goliath. One of the festival's headliners KATAKLYSM!

Since the next band is not only local but also one of the festival's organizers, its announcement will hardly come as a surprise. Dan, Martin, Jirka. And Goro. The distinctive logo of Czech death metal veterans TORTHARRY has been appearing on stages for more than 35 years, and it would be strange if this death metal bulldozer, fuelled by a passion for honest and uncompromising death metal, did not roar through Červený Kostelec once again.

The band plays numerous shows throughout the year, but returning to their home stage is always one of the highlights of the season. The third band will officially come of age by the time the festival takes place. Their star continues to rise and grow stronger, while their latest single We Are What We Shit even suggests that a rigid genre such as goregrind does not necessarily have to be complete musical filth. Fortunately, you will not need to pack your bags and travel all the way to Hellfest or Wacken. All you need to do is unleash yourselves at Broďák. We are delighted to announce the return of the dancing South Bohemian maniacs GUTALAX.

Kemp Brodský offers festival visitors ideal conditions: clean sanitary facilities, a permanent pub with fair prices, plenty of space for tents and caravans, swimming facilities and direct contact with nature just a few steps away from the main stage.
