Karpaty Hard Fest: The Day When Riffs Shattered the Air

17/06/2026

Saturday's programme at HARD Karpaty Fest kicked off on the MESIT Stage with Swept Into Decay and Vanguard, while Sacrastic and Demeted opened the day on the SCHS Stage. From the very first hours, it was clear that the audience was determined to warm up properly after Friday's cold night, something even the opening bands appreciated. The pits in front of both stages gradually filled up and grew more intense with each passing hour.

The afternoon programme offered a diverse showcase of both domestic and international acts. German band Fäust attracted significant attention, while Dysangelium followed on the second stage with their dark black metal atmosphere. It was during their set, however, that an unfortunate incident occurred - one festivalgoer collapsed and the music had to be stopped. Emergency responders worked on-site for almost an hour before the ambulance eventually left with its sirens on, indicating a positive outcome. As a result, Konfront missed their scheduled performance, although they were simultaneously confirmed as the first act for the third edition of HARD Karpaty Fest.

Hypnos then faced the difficult task of getting the festival moving again after the unexpected interruption. Without unnecessary delays, they played a shortened set to help reduce the schedule setback and bring the atmosphere back to full speed. Shortly afterwards, German act Knife delivered their uncompromising old-school metal, earning a deservedly enthusiastic response. Meanwhile, the MESIT Stage kept the heavy momentum going with performances by Taedifer and Laid To Waste, who ensured the crowd never stopped moving.

One of the undeniable highlights of Saturday's programme was the performance by Greek black metal legends Rotting Christ. Their monumental show felt like one grand ritual and drew a massive crowd to the main stage, creating one of the most powerful atmospheres of the entire festival. Afterwards, organiser Majoš Zvonek appeared on stage to announce two names already confirmed for 2027 Onslaught and Vomitory. Then came Polish death metal masters Decapitated, who delivered a precise demonstration of modern death metal and unleashed absolute chaos in front of the stage.

But Saturday's programme was far from over. On the MESIT Stage, fans were crushed by Anime Torment, followed later by Czech grindcore veterans Jig-Ai, whose set ranked among the most brutal moments of the entire weekend. Shortly before midnight, another legendary name took the stage Venom, or more precisely, the project built around guitarist Mantas and drummer Abaddon, two members of the classic line-up responsible for the landmark albums Welcome to Hell and Black Metal. The performance focused primarily on Welcome to Hell, the album that fundamentally influenced the development of black metal, thrash metal and the entire extreme music scene more than four decades ago.

As most visitors gradually made their way back to the campsite or headed home, the most dedicated fans stayed for the final late-night assaults. On the MESIT Stage, Bowel Fuck closed the festival with their uncompromising dose of grindcore brutality, while Doomas delivered the final blow on the SCHS Stage.

Huge respect goes to all the fans who endured from the first afternoon performances until the early morning hours and created an incredible atmosphere in front of both stages throughout the entire day. Special thanks belong to the entire organising team, technical crew, sound engineers and staff whose work ensured the festival ran smoothly and without complications. A big thank you also goes to every band for the passion and energy they brought to the audience over the course of the weekend. HARD Karpaty Fest 2026 once again proved that at the beginning of June, Slavičín is the place where the heart of extreme metal beats at full force.
