Jižák in the rhythm of hard & heavy with the legendary MERLIN
On Thursday, May 7, 2026, Music Club JIŽÁK will host a night full of hard & heavy energy. Sharing one stage will be Czech rock legend MERLIN fronted by Dan Horyna, joined by ARGOS and LATERS. Fans can expect a powerful mix of experience, authenticity, and modern rock sound.
MERLIN
Closely tied to Dan Horyna's name, Merlin today represents a seasoned live band proving that Czech rock stories don't fade—they evolve. From early '90s stars, they've grown into a group built on authenticity, experience, and direct audience connection.
Stable lineup
After years of lineup changes, the band has found solid ground. The current members are Dan Horyna, Ondřej Pátek, Vašek Kalaš, and Matyáš Kalaš. The combination of Horyna's energy with a younger generation brings a fresher dynamic and tighter live performance.
A band that lives for the stage
Merlin doesn't rely on nostalgia or media image. Their core lies in live shows—club gigs, smaller festivals, and themed events. Setlists include key tracks from the Nevada era as well as newer material that naturally continues their musical evolution.

ARGOS
ARGOS is a heavy metal band from Pečky (near Kolín), founded in 1988. After a hiatus, they returned in 2018 and released the album Dej co máš with 13 original tracks. They regularly perform in clubs and at festivals, including appearances at MASTERS OF ROCK.
Lineup:
Ondra Marek, Martin "Bóďa" Růžek, Pavel Šebrle, Ondřej Růžička. Their style stays firmly within the hard & heavy genre.

LATERS
LATERS is a Prague-based band blending heavy metal, hard rock, and punk rock. Active since 2021, they released their debut album Vládce Čas in 2025, featuring the video for Netvor noci.
After a spring mini-tour, they return to their home venue JIŽÁK before heading into the summer festival season, including events like Motákfest and Help Days Fest.
