Jamaron: A Big Dream Shook Forum Karlín

On Friday, April 24, 2026, we headed to Forum Karlín, where Prague-based band Jamaron took the stage for a highly anticipated show. The band returned to live performances after a short creative break last autumn - and they chose to come back in style. To celebrate their 13th anniversary, they treated themselves (and their fans) to their biggest standalone show to date, one that was nearly sold out.
Even before 6 PM, fans were already gathering outside the venue. Many had arrived early for VIP tickets, which included a meet & greet with the band, while others were securing the best possible spots. Just before the doors opened to the general public at 7 PM, the line stretched far down Thámova Street.
At 8 PM, the evening kicked off with their friends from Civilní Obrana. By the time their set was in full swing, the space in front of the stage was already packed. They brought the right kind of energy, mixing newer tracks from last year's genCO - like Dycky Rizz - with fan favorites such as I like Mrkvička, Holku pevnou mít, Tereza, and Chlap. They also announced their own biggest headline show yet, set for November 14, 2026, at the Grand Hall of Lucerna, where they'll swap roles with Jamaron. Tickets were even available at a special price at the merch stand. The only downside? Their set felt too short - about half an hour, as is typical for an opening act.
At 9 PM sharp, the curtain dropped and Jamaron took over. The audience was immediately struck by the elaborate stage design - a multi-level construction with drummer Václav Hejda positioned at the very top, overseeing everything from above. Stairs on both sides allowed the band to move freely, while integrated LED screens displayed visuals tailored specifically for the show. A long catwalk extended from the stage, often used by frontwoman Marie Dostálová as her personal runway. Subtle effects like flames, CO₂ bursts, and overhead sparks added to the atmosphere without overwhelming it.
The entire show kicked off with the track Velkej sen, a fitting choice as this very concert symbolized the band fulfilling their own "big life dream." They came back to that idea several times throughout the night - for example, when guitarist Ondřej Dostál shared that "ten years ago, my brother Jakub and I were working here as stagehands, and people laughed when we said we'd be playing this stage one day."
Much of the set revolved around their latest album Něco zůstane, released last autumn, with a Deluxe edition dropping just ahead of the show. Newer tracks like Nepatrný ztráty, Gambler, Zákon džungle, Jizvy, Adrenalin, and Plyšovej kříž made the cut, alongside older favorites such as O lžích a lidech, Generace, 30 vteřin ticha, and Jedenáct. No show of this scale would be complete without a guest - this time it was Marpo, who joined the band for Svět není fér.
During the nearly two-hour set, Marie Dostálová changed outfits three times, owned the stage, and radiated unstoppable energy. It's hard to believe she's only two months postpartum - an absolutely incredible performance.
The main set officially closed with Medvídci koušou, but the crowd demanded more. The encore kicked off with Kamikaze, followed by a heartfelt introduction of the entire crew behind the show. The band also thanked their label and producer Damián Kučera for their work on the new album. He then joined representatives from Universal Music on stage to present the band with a Gold Record. The night closed with Osudová balada and Smrt nás nerozdělí, dedicated to those no longer with us. Among them was their bassist Filip Karlík, who tragically passed away in September 2023 following a serious car accident. His memory was honored with his image projected behind the band, alongside the words Karlíto ∞ Forever. After a final goodbye, Marie tossed her purple stage coat into the crowd.
This was without a doubt a powerful live experience—one that both the band and the fans will draw energy from for a long time to come. On behalf of the editorial team, thank you for letting us be part of such an unforgettable night.
