INSANIA Reveal the Location of Their Secret Base in a New Video. A Touch of Irony

Brno-based veterans INSANIA continue to unveil the next chapter of their story. The band have now released the third single from their upcoming album NEO-NOE, which is set to arrive at the end of October. The new track is titled Ironie, and alongside the song itself, the band have also unveiled a music video filmed at a location that carries a much deeper meaning for them than it may seem at first glance.
For the video for Ironie, INSANIA chose the industrial surroundings of the former Mosilana complex in Brno. Its maze-like corridors and hidden corners provide a raw and slightly unsettling backdrop for the new song. Mosilana is also one of the last surviving reminders of the textile industry that played a major role in shaping Brno's economic and social development during the 19th century.
For INSANIA themselves, however, the location has another special significance. Hidden behind three sets of doors is the band's secret rehearsal room. The video therefore serves not only as a visual accompaniment to the new single, but also as a document of a place closely connected to the band's everyday existence.
"The maze of the Mosilana complex, which we have mapped out to some extent in this video, is facing the same sad fate in the near future as Vaňkovka, Zbrojovka or Vlněna – major Brno factories that have already been demolished," frontman Poly explains. According to him, this also gives the video a documentary quality, capturing a place whose current form may not exist forever.
The song Ironie itself is built around contrasts. Heavy guitar riffs are accompanied by children's voices appearing in choral chants. It is precisely this combination of an innocent-sounding children's delivery and the much darker message of the song that INSANIA deliberately chose to work with.
"Ironie is a sinister nevergreen about where we are heading, what we are, and which path we choose to take. And after quite some time, we decided to use children's voices in choral chanting again we love the contrast between an innocent childlike expression, a chilling message, and strict guitar riffs," Poly adds.
The new album NEO-NOE will be released on October 30 and will continue the current creative chapter of INSANIA, who are gradually revealing more material from the upcoming record. Ironie is already the third single to be released and once again shows that the band continue to combine heavy music, distinctive lyrics, and a strong visual identity.
