INSANIA Declare: Go Ahead and Build Your Ark, I’ll Build the Titanic!

The latest release from INSANIA is about to hit the world. The band promise their most hard-hitting album since Kult hyeny, brimming with irony, not least on the single Ironie.

INSANIA hold nothing back on their new album, NEO-NOE: "We went for a straightforward approach. But there are still experiments, such as fretless bass or monstrously distorted Hammond organs. This time, we also have two 'tribute tracks' on the album. The track 'Tu kytáru jsem spálil kvůli tobě' is an ugly response to Václav Neckář's originally beautiful song. And then there's 'Prachy', which has its own dark story: it was originally supposed to be a cover of 'Money' by PINK FLOYD, but somehow we couldn't get permission from the rights holders. So we twisted it into our own 'nevergreen', which references the original and also alludes to an iconic song by PRAŽSKÝ VÝBĚR through a musical quotation," comments frontman Poly.

On their latest release, the band continue to combine heavy guitars, electronic samples and punchy rhythms, although this time, by their own admission, they are placing an even greater emphasis on directness. NEO-NOE builds on the sound and lyrical approach the band developed on previous albums, including Grrrotesky. However, the new release goes beyond the music itself. Its visual presentation and the use of apocalyptic imagery are also central to its concept, with INSANIA once again turning the theme of the apocalypse on its head in their characteristic style.

The entire album carries a clear message, once again delivered with biting irony, while its artwork depicts a historical scenario: "The biblical flood is over. The 'New Noah', portrayed as a black-market dealer/gangster carrying a gun, steps out of the Ark/Titanic onto dry land and claims it, followed by hyenas, coyotes and other hideous creatures, the only ones to have survived the flood," explains Poly.
