Front Line Fest Unleashes Its Strongest Lineup Yet: ČAD, Vanguard and Abyss Above Lead the Charge!
On March 7, the eighth edition of the traditional club gathering FRONT LINE FEST will take place in Brno, this time for the first time at the club První Patro!
This year's lineup will be the most extensive yet, featuring six bands. At the same time, it will be a bit of a fraternal collaboration – it will present a balanced representation with three bands from the Czech Republic and three from Slovakia.
For this upcoming edition, Slovak thrashers ČAD and deathcore representatives from our neighbors ABYSS ABOVE and STERCORE will perform. From the Czech side, the organizers VANGUARD, local stalwarts ANIME TORMENT, and modernists ORIGIN OF INFINITY will appear.
Discounted student tickets are available on-site for 350 CZK upon presentation of a student ID!
The bands performing at the upcoming edition are:
ČAD /thrash metal/ SK – The work of Slovak ČAD combines elements of thrash, death metal, and hardcore, with lyrics focusing on social issues, war, ecology, and human brutality. ČAD are known for their energetic and uncompromising music as well as a strong identity, and they are among the most respected names on both the Slovak and Czech metal scenes.
VANGUARD /death metal/ CZ – VANGUARD is a Brno-based band whose music oscillates around melodic/technical death metal with many genre overlaps. During their energetic performances, they focus on audience interaction, and despite their technical approach, they never fail to deliver an intense dose of brutality.
ANIME TORMENT /deathcore/ CZ – Anime Torment is a metal staple from Litoměřice, dominating European stages since 2007. Over the years, their music has taken on many forms, surpassing the simple labels of death metal or deathcore. Their latest release was the 2023 EP Just a Carcass.
ABYSS ABOVE /deathcore/ SK – Abyss Above is a five-member band from Prešov offering deathcore with intense energy and sharp riffs. The band combines hardcore deathcore foundations with elements of black metal, downtempo, and metalcore – their music features heavy breakdowns, dissonant lines, but also atmospheric moments.
STERCORE /deathcore/ SK – STERCORE is a Slovak band from Prievidza. Their distinctive deathcore often crosses genre boundaries and they are not afraid to incorporate electronic elements. Their music serves massive breakdowns, aggressive vocals, and a combination of heavy riffs with modern sound elements.
ORIGIN OF INFINITY /modern death metal/ CZ – Origin Of Infinity is a Czech metal band from Děčín, whose style lies on the border of progressive and technical death metal with elements of deathcore and djent. Fans of more modern death metal and early albums by the legendary Meshuggah will find much to enjoy.
