EXODUS Strike Back: New Album Goliath Arrives in March, First Single Is an Uncompromising Massacre

Thrash metal legends from San Francisco, EXODUS, are back in full force. Their twelfth studio album Goliath will be released on March 20, 2026 via Napalm Records, and the band wastes no time firing heavy artillery—the opening single "3111." What begins as a dark, dissonant assault quickly turns into a mindless thrash onslaught, making one thing crystal clear: even after forty years, EXODUS are still hungry and dangerous.
"3111" thematically focuses on the brutal drug wars in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico—the number in the title refers to the estimated number of murders in 2010. According to the band, the music video is "too brutal for YouTube" and will be released in its full version elsewhere at a later date.
Goliath: the return of Rob Dukes and the most team-driven album in the band's history
The new album Goliath builds on the return of vocalist Rob Dukes, whose performance the band describes as the best of his career. At the same time, it is the most collective effort EXODUS have ever created—songs were written by multiple band members, and the album also features guest appearances by Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN) and violinist Katie Jacoby.
Sonically, the record combines frantic speed, crushing heaviness, and a dark—at times almost epic—atmosphere. From moshpit wreckers through ominous mid-tempo passages to the nearly eight-minute colossus "Summon Of The God Unknown," Goliath is diverse yet unmistakably Exodus.
"Bow down."
The album was produced by the band themselves, with mixing and mastering handled by Mark Lewis (WHITECHAPEL, NILE). Guitarist Gary Holt doesn't hold back on praise:
"It's so good it makes me want to cry. It's nothing but anthems—fast, slow, brutal. Rob's vocals are an absolute peak."
And as if that weren't enough—so much material was written during the sessions that around 80% of the next album is already finished.
EXODUS once again prove that thrash metal is not nostalgia, but a living, furious, and uncompromising force. Goliath is ready to trample stages and skulls alike. Bow down. 🤘
