Dřevorockfest 2026: The Castle Park in Dřevohostice Burned to Ashes Under the Force of Metal Riffs!

08/07/2026

Forget sterile halls and city fairs. In a place where nobility once roamed, the ground shook on Sunday, July 5, 2026, under the weight of thousands of heavy boots. Dřevorockfest celebrated its twenty-first birthday in style, with a massive sonic assault that drew the rock and metal elite from across the country into the magical setting of the castle grounds in Dřevohostice. What originally began two decades ago as a modest gathering of amateur bands from Přerov has today become an uncompromising celebration of heavy music, where no weak moments are tolerated. The festival kicked off sharply just after noon, and the wild ride did not end until the early hours of the morning.

The venue was shaken out of its lethargy by the hard rock strike force Komunál. The bards from Turnov immediately fired their anthems into the crowd with brutal pressure and left no one in doubt that the rock drought was over. The following lighter moment, delivered by the melancholic rock of Mňága a Žďorp, slowed the pace for a while, but it served more as the proverbial calm before the storm. That storm was unleashed in a flash by punk nobility Visací Zámek. Jan Haubert and his crew pulled one time-tested classic after another from their sleeves and proved that honest, dirty punk has an undisputed place at this festival.

As the evening approached, the festival gained a powerful rock'n'roll-metal engine. Alkehol turned the area beneath the stage into one huge wild party full of catchy riffs and lyrics that the entire castle park roared along to in unison. The baton was then taken over by the Liberec whirlwind Krucipüsk. Tomáš Hajíček once again confirmed his status as one of the most charismatic and wildest frontmen in the country. Their high-octane crossover, driven by heavyweight groove, sparked the first massive moshpit and sliced through the air with pure adrenaline.

As darkness fell over the trees, it was time for heavy nostalgia of the highest quality. Slovak legend Tublatanka, led by Maťo Ďurinda, delivered an absolutely professional hard rock lesson. A superb, cutting sound, a perfectly tight rhythm section and thousands of voices singing along to hits such as Pravda víťazí clearly demonstrated why these veterans still belong at the top and can command huge crowds.

However, the most anticipated highlight of the evening belonged to the masked squad Dymytry. As an uncompromising headliner, they left no one in doubt about their current position on the domestic metal throne. The stage, wrapped in thick smoke, and a brutal light show announced the arrival of a modern psy-core hell. The band operated like a precisely tuned, murderous machine. Massive breakdowns tore through eardrums, the guitar duo fired off one deadly riff after another, and the frontman's performance drove the crowd into absolute madness. In Dřevohostice, Dymytry delivered a show of international standards that quite literally shook the very foundations of the castle itself.

Just when it seemed that the audience's energy reserves were finally exhausted and the dust in the moshpit was settling, the final decadent touch arrived. The Brno-based formation Morčata na útěku launched into their agro-parody set and, with their trademark humour, reliably finished off all survivors in the early morning hours.

Great thanks go to the organisers for absolutely flawless service, excellent sound and facilities that have no competition in the region. But the biggest thanks go to you, the fans, because without your relentless energy, the hell you created beneath the stage and your loyalty to rock and metal, Dřevorockfest would not be what it is. Long live rock, and see you in the ring again next year!
