DEATHRAW release new single “Riot” from debut EP “Reduced to Ashes”

French thrash metal outfit DEATHRAW has unveiled their second single, Riot, from their debut EP "Reduced to Ashes", released on February 13, 2026.

Following the searing intensity of the title track Reduced to Ashes, DEATHRAW expand their sonic palette with Riot. The new track radiates aggression and energy while weaving in darker, brooding passages that fully immerse the listener. The song blends crushing riffs, technically intricate guitar work, and dynamic tempo shifts, offering a deeper insight into the band's evolving compositional approach.

Firmly rooted in the legacy of Bay Area thrash metal, DEATHRAW combine relentless, rapid-fire riffs with moments of melodic tension, maintaining an authentic and raw edge. Their sound is driven by gritty vocals, striking guitar solos, and precise, punchy drumming, all captured with a strong mix that highlights their creative energy.

DEATHRAW formed in early 2025 as the vision of guitarist Aurélien Gonzalez (BLACKENED) following his departure from the thrash band DEAD TREE SEEDS, where he had played for ten years. He joined forces with Eric Walzer, an experienced bassist and guitarist formerly in the black metal band DRAUGEN, who was also developing new concepts for his own solo project. Together, they discovered a shared passion for crafting impactful thrash metal songs with compelling lyrical themes.

Aurélien leads the songwriting and guitar work, while Eric contributes vocals, bass, and production expertise, shaping a sound deeply influenced by Bay Area thrash. DEATHRAW's music features rapid, unrelenting riffs balanced by more melodic passages, reflecting a direct, authentic approach without overproduction.

During recording, technical death metal drummer Fabrice Goddi (ex-MINDKILLER, ex-SCURRILOUS) joined the lineup, completing DEATHRAW as a power trio. Each member brings a strong individual identity: Aurélien's standout guitar solos, Eric's raw vocals and bass, and Fabrice's precise yet energetic drumming. Currently, the band is working on new material, including compositions by Eric, further enriching the project's artistic direction. DEATHRAW is also seeking a fourth member to bring their sonic assault to live stages.
