Day Three: Masters of Rock at Full Strength

19/07/2026

If the first day is all about anticipation and the second about settling into the festival rhythm, Saturday is when Masters of Rock reveals its strongest side. Vizovice wakes to another sunny morning, but this time no one has to wonder where anything is. The festival has become home. For a few days, work, everyday routines, and the worries of daily life disappear. All that remains is the music, friendships, and the unique atmosphere that only several thousand people sharing the same passion can create.

From the morning onwards, it was obvious that the grounds of the Rudolf Jelínek distillery were about to experience the busiest day of the entire festival. Queues formed at the food stalls, merchandise vendors struggled to keep up with demand, and fans gathered in front of the main stage long before the first bands appeared. Everyone had their own schedule and the bands they had been waiting all year to see, but they all shared one goal – to make the most of Saturday.

The third festival day best demonstrates that Masters of Rock is far more than just a series of concerts. It is a place where people come together. You meet friends you only see once a year, families who have been returning for generations, and visitors who have travelled from the other side of Europe simply to experience the atmosphere. It is at moments like these that you realise Vizovice is far more than just another town on the map. For a few days, it becomes the capital of rock, metal – and slivovice.

Gate Crasher, the first band of the day, opened their set with Tři kříže, gently awakening Vizovice for another festival day. Anyone unfamiliar with the band before their performance almost certainly added them to their playlist after their energetic show.

Although Saturday initially felt more relaxed, the atmosphere changed the moment Hammer King took the stage. Suddenly, everyone paid attention. Those opening notes sounded strangely familiar... could it really be..? Before anyone had time to answer the question in their own mind, Danger Zone. The song forever associated with the Top Gun films. If Hammer King hadn't won over the audience before, they undoubtedly gained plenty of new fans with that performance.

Throughout the day, the second stage was equally busy. Metal Factory attracted plenty of curious listeners, bringing unmistakable Ostrava energy to the festival. They proved that the Czech metal scene still has plenty to offer and is more than capable of standing alongside internationally recognised names.

Meanwhile, the crowd in front of the main stage continued to grow as more established acts appeared. Miracle of Sound delivered pure metal energy throughout their performance. They saved perhaps the perfect finale for last  – a song that has now been covered by countless artists and is familiar to almost everyone. Valhalla Calling proved to be an excellent choice to close their set.

Primal Fear picked up exactly where Miracle of Sound had left off – with another powerful dose of energy. The German power metal veterans wasted no time, delivering one hard-hitting song after another from the very beginning. Ralf Scheepers, with his unmistakable vocals, once again demonstrated why he is regarded as one of the genre's finest singers, while the rest of the band performed with the precision of a perfectly tuned machine. Primal Fear showed that they have firmly established their place in Vizovice, building their performance on exceptional musicianship, classic heavy metal, and relentless energy that never faded throughout the set.

Another German band followed. Feuerschwanz delivered a spectacular show packed with visual effects, excellent audience interaction, and, alongside their own material, several entertaining covers, including Dragostea Din Tei. They barely gave the audience a moment to catch their breath, keeping everyone's attention focused solely on the music from beginning to end.

Arch Enemy attracted fans not only because of their music but also because of the recent change in the band's vocalist. Many were curious to see how Lauren Hart would handle the role. Opinions among fans were mixed. Some felt that Alissa White-Gluz had been the stronger vocalist, while others had no complaints about Lauren Hart's performance. Only time will tell where this new chapter will lead the band and how fans will respond in the long term.

The final performance of the day belonged to Denmark's Neckbreakker, one of the most promising young names on the European death metal scene. Their appearance in Vizovice confirmed why they have attracted so much attention in recent years. Many were surprised by the vocalist's remarkably deep growls, and the band demonstrated that despite their young age, they possess enormous potential and infectious energy. Those who stayed after Arch Enemy certainly had no reason to regret it.

The third festival day never slowed down, although signs of fatigue were beginning to appear among some visitors. Only one day remained—the festival's final chapter, made all the more special by the place where it unfolds. Vizovice.
