DARK GAMBALLE unveil music video for the single Protipóly

Dark Gamballe return with a new music video for the song Protipóly, originally released five years ago on the album Romance panenky a kladiva. The band is now giving the track a fresh visual form while also opening a subtle ecological theme of the world gradually returning back to nature.

The idea for the video itself first emerged back in 2021. However, the COVID pandemic and subsequent health complications repeatedly halted the nearly completed filming process, until the entire project eventually fell asleep.

The turning point only came at the end of 2024, when director Michal Šteflovič contacted the band, saying he loved Protipóly and would love to transform it into a visual experience. At first, it seemed like a modest idea without major expectations. But once the band saw the first rough cut of the video, everything became clear.

"When we saw the first draft, our jaws dropped. We realised Michal had boldly and uncompromisingly jumped straight into the top league of music video directors," the band comments on the creation of the clip.

After several years, Dark Gamballe are bringing Protipóly back into the spotlight and offering fans a visually striking interpretation that perfectly underlines the atmosphere of the song itself.

The band also adds that further words are unnecessary – according to them, the final video speaks best for itself.
