Bruce Dickinson is finishing his new solo album: vocals are being recorded at Dave Grohl’s studio

IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson is fully focused on completing his new solo album. He is currently working on the final vocal recordings at the famous Studio 606 in Northridge, California, owned by Dave Grohl (FOO FIGHTERS). The new release will follow The Mandrake Project (2024), but its release is planned no earlier than 2027.

The update on the recording progress was revealed by vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, who ran into Bruce directly at the studio while he was working. According to Soto, Dickinson is still in top vocal form, and the new songs leave an exceptionally strong impression. Soto even hinted that this could be one of Bruce's best solo albums ever—well beyond the world of IRON MAIDEN.

The album once again features a proven team. A key role is played by longtime producer and co-writer Roy "Z" Ramirez, who previously worked on albums such as The Chemical Wedding and Tyranny Of Souls. Dickinson has around 18 demo tracks completed, from which approximately 9–11 songs will be selected for the final album. According to Bruce, some of them are literally "absolute bombs."

Unlike The Mandrake Project, which was gradually assembled from material written in different periods, the new album will be recorded live as a band, which should be clearly reflected in its sound. Bruce promises a wide dynamic range—from crushingly heavy tracks to emotional and acoustic moments—always serving what each song requires.

The new record will be recorded by the same lineup that has toured with Dickinson in recent years and is also expected to accompany him on the planned 2027 tour. It is yet another clear sign that even after more than four decades on the scene, Bruce Dickinson has lost none of his energy, creativity, or desire to push the boundaries of his solo work.

Fans will still have to wait a while, but all signs point to the fact that Bruce Dickinson's return with a new solo album will be well worth it 🤘
