Březfest 2026: Jihlava to host a two-day open-air metal festival with a European dimension

29/05/2026

After a successful first edition, Březfest returns to Jihlava – a two-day open-air festival that connects the regional scene, European bands and the unique atmosphere of the natural amphitheatre in Březinovy Sady. On June 19–20, 2026, the festival will offer a programme that brings international guests, Czech legends and bands with strong European potential to Jihlava.

The festival is built on genre diversity within heavy music – from gothic rock and melodic death metal to modern metal, thrash and alternative sounds. Březfest appeals to a wide spectrum of visitors while also strengthening the cultural offerings of Jihlava and the entire Vysočina region.

The natural amphitheatre in the centre of Jihlava offers excellent acoustics, easy accessibility and the atmosphere of a major open-air event in the heart of the city. It is a symbol of the idea that culture is not a luxury but a fundamental part of community life – a place that keeps people connected.

FRIDAY, JUNE 19, 2026 – ROOTS OF VYSOČINA

A joint Fajtfest & Březfest project

Friday carries the identity of Roots of Vysočina – a shared platform between two strong regional festival brands. This is not a warm-up event, but a full-fledged festival day featuring the same stage, sound and lighting production as Saturday.

Roots of Vysočina connects communities, supports the regional scene and brings in bands with significant potential.

Komodo (HU) – Modern metal from Hungary combining melodic elements with heavy grooves and an energetic live show. The band is one of the fastest-growing names on the Hungarian scene and will bring their trademark powerful sound and strong stage energy to Březfest.
Komodo also won the fan vote for participation at Březfest 2026. A total of 48 bands entered the selection process, from which the production team chose 12 finalists. Fans voted via the Březfest Facebook page, and the final result was decided literally in the last minute.
