Březfest 2026 Is Approaching. Jihlava Will Once Again Resound with Heavy Music

17/06/2026

The wait is almost over. On 19–20 June, the natural amphitheatre in Jihlava's Březinovy sady will once again transform into a hub of heavy music, welcoming fans of metal, rock, and alternative genres from across the country and abroad.

The second edition of Březfest builds on the success of its premiere and this year brings a stronger international lineup, an expanded program, and two full festival days. A new addition this year is the collaboration with Fajtfest, which has given rise to Friday's Kořeny Vysočiny program - a day dedicated to modern forms of heavy music and the emerging generation of the metal scene.

FRIDAY 19. 06. 2026 – KOŘENY VYSOČINY

The Friday program is created in cooperation with Fajtfest under the banner Kořeny Vysočiny. This project connects fans, supports the regional scene, and gives space to bands that are expected to be heard much more in the future. Visitors can look forward to an evening full of modern metal, hardcore, and more extreme forms of heavy music.

Stellvris (EU) – One of the most distinctive names on the European modern metal scene. A combination of heavy riffs, cinematic atmosphere, and emotional themes touching on mental health, toxic relationships, and personal resilience. The band has shared stages with acts such as Megadeth, Jinjer, and The Black Dahlia Murder.

Furiosa (CZ) – A band positioned between hardcore and modern metal subgenres. Furiosa has undergone a major transformation, and its current form was born directly within the Fajtfest crew -  the team behind one of the most prominent Czech heavy music festivals.

Komodo (HU) – A Hungarian powerhouse opening this year's Březfest. They bring their signature "Varanus Metal" — a dark blend of thrash, groove, and death metal with massive energy. They earned their spot at the festival by winning a public vote among 48 bands.

Extreme (CZ) – A Vysočina-based thrash/death metal staple. Raw old-school sound, uncompromising attitude, and pure metal energy without any polishing.

Malignant Tumor (CZ) – An Ostrava legend with a 35-year history. Crust/heavy metal with a rock'n'roll drive.

SATURDAY 20. 06. 2026 – BŘEZFEST

The main festival day will offer a cross-section of the Czech and European metal scene - from gothic rock through power metal to modern heavy genres.

XIII. STOLETÍ (CZ) – An icon of Czech gothic rock. Dark atmosphere, the unmistakable voice of Petr Štěpán, and a repertoire that has shaped the domestic scene for over three decades.

INDUCTION (DE) – One of the brightest hopes of the current European power metal scene. Led by guitarist Tim Hansen, the band combines technical precision, melodic lines, and massive energy. Fans of modern power metal in the style of Helloween or Gamma Ray should not miss this show.

MOYRA (PL) – A Polish band led by charismatic vocalist Margo Moyra, delivering melodic death metal filled with emotion, strong melodies, and mythological themes. Fans of Arch Enemy or In Flames will feel right at home.

IN SANITY (DE) – Modern German metalcore combining heaviness, melody, and the energy of today's European scene. A perfect choice for fans of modern metal and massive breakdowns.

Dark Gamballe (CZ) – Alternative metal with elements of electronics and industrial. Strong visual identity and a history of 14 albums.

Palpitate (CZ) – Modern crossover metal from Šumperk, featuring a heavy sound and contemporary production.

Purnama (CZ) – Blackened death metal with intense live performances and charity projects. Winners of Spark Fresh Blood.

Black Row (CZ) – Brno-based nu-metal / alternative metal band. Heavy riffs, modern atmosphere, and a growing fanbase.

Tickets & Festival Facilities

Tickets for Březfest 2026 are available in advance via SMSTICKET, and will also be sold on-site throughout the entire duration of the festival.

However, Březfest is not only about music. The festival area will offer full-scale facilities - from a wide selection of food stands and beer and drink bars to merchandise booths featuring band merch as well as vinyl and CD sales. Organizers are also focusing on visitor comfort, including full accessibility for people with disabilities.

Families will also find their place at the festival. A children's playground is part of the venue, making Březfest not only a celebration of heavy music, but also a space where different generations can meet and enjoy the atmosphere together.

Practical Information: Parking & Accommodation

Organizers would like to inform visitors that parking directly next to the venue is reserved for bands and event staff only. Festivalgoers are encouraged to use public parking areas in Jihlava, from where the amphitheatre is easily reachable on foot.

Overnight stays in the immediate vicinity of the venue are not possible due to capacity and safety reasons. If you are travelling from further away, it is recommended to book accommodation in advance in one of the local guesthouses, hotels, or hostels. Jihlava offers a wide range of options suitable for all budgets.

Weather: Summer Heat and Possible Storms

This year's Březfest is expected to take place in genuinely summer-like temperatures. The current forecast predicts tropical weather around 30 °C, with Saturday potentially bringing even higher temperatures. Thunderstorms may also occur during the day, so it's advisable to pack both sunscreen and a raincoat to be prepared for any conditions.

Just a Few Days Left Until the Pit Opens

Březfest once again confirms that it aims to be more than just another regional festival. The combination of local legends, international acts, rising talents, and the unique atmosphere of Březinovy sady creates an event that firmly holds its place on the Czech metal map.

So if you still don't have plans for the upcoming weekend, Jihlava might be the answer - among the trees, under the open sky, and surrounded by music that connects generations.
