BOLKA FEST 2026 – The Weekend When Mladá Boleslav Shook to Its Foundations!

The last weekend of May belonged to music, social gatherings and the atmosphere that is inseparably linked to the start of the festival season at Krásná Louka in Mladá Boleslav. Bolka Fest once again brought thousands of visitors together in one place and offered two days packed with concerts across multiple genres. Fans of rock, metal, punk and energetic live performances all found something to enjoy, as the festival kept the entire venue moving from the first afternoon hours until long into the night. The event took place at the traditional Krásná Louka grounds, where organizers prepared two music stages, visitor facilities and an accompanying programme. Throughout the weekend, a friendly atmosphere prevailed, supported not only by pleasant weather but above all by the enthusiasm of fans who came to support their favourite performers. Bolka Fest is gradually establishing itself among the region's major music events, and this year's edition confirmed that there is still strong interest in quality domestic festivals. The packed programme delivered many powerful moments, loud singalongs and unforgettable concert experiences that visitors carried home with them long after the final performance had ended. In the following lines, we take a look at Saturday's programme, which featured several prominent names from the Czech music scene and provided a fitting climax to the entire festival weekend.
The Second Festival Day Belonged to Czech Rock and Metal Legends
On Saturday, May 30, the gates of the second day of Bolka Fest opened at 11 a.m., and from the very beginning it was clear that there would be no shortage of fans of heavy music. The venue gradually filled with people of all generations, from young fans to veteran rockers who had grown up attending events like this. Although the morning weather forecast looked anything but promising, with dark clouds and the threat of storms hanging over the site, everything eventually turned around and the festival enjoyed a sunny and genuinely hot day.
The second festival day was opened by L. Odháněl, who had the challenging task of getting the venue going at noon. Nevertheless, they handled the role very well. Fans slowly streamed into the grounds, grabbed a beer and gradually settled into the proper festival mood. A relaxed rock atmosphere filled the air, and the band provided the perfect warm-up for the rest of the line-up.
They were followed by legendary Czech beer-rockers Alkehol, who never seem to disappoint. Fans of all generations immediately gathered in front of the stage, and from the first notes it was obvious why this band has earned its place on the Czech scene. The audience sang virtually every song alongside the band, and the festival grounds quickly reached a boiling point. Alkehol delivered exactly what their fans expect: an honest pub-rock show without unnecessary posing. Even technical issues with the guitars did not disrupt the performance, as the band remained completely professional and carried on without hesitation. Naturally, classics such as Spalovač chlastu and Nechte vlajky vlát were included, with the entire venue singing along.
The third band of the day was Arakain, one of the biggest draws of this year's line-up. Even before they stepped onto the stage, anticipation among the crowd was palpable. The Czech metal legends once again demonstrated why they have held a firm place on the domestic metal throne for more than four decades. Jan Toužimský delivered an incredible vocal performance, while the rest of the band played with absolute precision. Although they performed as a four-piece this time, there was no noticeable drop in quality. Arakain alternated older classics with newer material, treating fans to songs such as Strážci času and Proč. They closed their set with the iconic Apage Satanas and were rewarded with thunderous applause.
After Arakain, it was time for Krucipüsk, who arrived with enormous energy and immediately set the venue on fire. The crowd surged toward the stage, and from the first minute the band proved why they remain one of the strongest live acts on the Czech crossover scene. Their trademark combination of heavy music, humour and raw lyrics worked perfectly. Fans enjoyed both older favourites and newer songs, while tracks such as Druide and Musím do Mexika, which the band had not performed for some time, received particularly enthusiastic reactions. Krucipüsk showed that they have lost none of their live power over the years.
Another legend of the day was Pražský výběr. The band led by Michael Kocáb, Vilém Čok and Michal Pavlíček once again confirmed their exceptional status on the Czech scene. The audience sang along from beginning to end, and the band delivered not only musical excellence but also an enormous sense of showmanship and improvisation. When technical issues appeared during the set, the musicians handled everything with humour and professionalism. Vilém Čok even performed part of a song lying on the stage after a problem with his guitar strap, while Michal Pavlíček once again demonstrated why he is considered one of the finest guitarists in the country. The performance was full of energy, humour and musical brilliance.
Following this legendary act came Harlej, who already enjoyed strong support from fans during their soundcheck. Although following Pražský výběr was no easy task, they managed it brilliantly. From the very first songs, the area in front of the stage was packed and fans seemed to know every lyric. Tracks such as Zfetovanej and the legendary Pověste ho vejš received huge responses, with the entire venue singing together as one. Once again, Harlej proved why they remain among the most popular Czech rock bands of the modern era.
Next, the stage was taken over by Trautenberk from Klatovy, who brought one of the biggest shows of the entire festival. Within moments, the stage had transformed into something resembling a theatrical production, complete with props and costumes. From the very beginning, the band worked the crowd masterfully, with fans responding enthusiastically to every challenge. Familiar songs such as Himlhergotdonrvetr were naturally included, and the audience enjoyed not only the heavy music but also the band's trademark humour. Trautenberk unleashed massive pogo pits and wall-of-death moments, which the fans embraced wholeheartedly. The band also demonstrated great professionalism when a brief sound outage occurred during Hory volají. The entire performance felt like a carefully crafted metal spectacle, and the crowd loved every minute of it.
After Trautenberk came another powerful blow in the form of Škwor. From the first minutes, they delivered a professional performance full of energy, powerful lyrics and immense stage presence. Fans immediately packed the front of the stage and sang along to favourites such as Síla starejch vín, Pohledy studený and Mý slzy neuvidíš. As darkness fell, their impressive light show became even more effective, adding another dimension to the concert atmosphere. Škwor once again confirmed why they command one of the strongest fan bases on the Czech hard rock scene.
The final act of the festival day belonged to Dymytry, who entered with huge energy and instantly unleashed complete mayhem in front of the stage. Their concert was built from start to finish on a foundation of precision, heavy sound and strong interaction with the audience. Dymytry have long proven that they belong among the biggest names on the contemporary Czech metal scene, and this performance was another reminder why. Masks, light effects, crushing riffs and modern metal energy all worked together perfectly, providing a worthy conclusion to the festival day.
This year's edition of Bolka Fest was a genuine success. The festival offered a powerful line-up spanning rock, hard rock and metal, proving once again that the Czech live music scene remains incredibly strong. Organisation ran smoothly, the schedule stayed almost perfectly on time, and the entire event operated like a well-oiled machine. It is already clear that fans will be eagerly awaiting the next edition, and our editorial team certainly does not plan to miss it.
