BLOOD RED THRONE and All-Star Band FIRESPAWN Set to Play Metalgate Czech Death Fest 2027
The third batch of five bands announced for Czech Death Fest is led by two Scandinavian death metal heavyweights: Stockholm supergroup Firespawn and uncompromising Norwegian outfit Blood Red Throne.
The line-up, currently headlined by Canadian death metal veterans KATAKLYSM, is growing with five more bands, two of which are set to be among the festival's highlights.
BLOOD RED THRONE was founded by guitarist Død back in the 1990s, while he was still playing in Satyricon. The Norwegians, however, have forged their own sound: an untamed, raw, uncompromising and technically precise death metal assault drawing inspiration from both the classic American scene and the darkness of the North. One of the most authentic voices in extreme metal is bringing its aggressive old-school sound all the way to Broďák. Get ready!
Stockholm supergroup FIRESPAWN was formed by members of NECROPHOBIC, ENTOMBED A.D., UNLEASHED and DEFLESHED, driven by the idea of playing faster and heavier death metal than in their respective bands. After releasing three albums on Century Media, however, legendary frontman LG Petrov died of bile duct cancer, and FIRESPAWN fell silent for four years. Until last year. Following the announcement of the band's return after Petrov's death, Jörgen Sandström (GRAVE, among others) stepped up to the microphone. Fans can look forward to old-school Swedish death metal that is also technically precise and full of energy, venturing into darker blackened territory and even more modern sonic realms.
And now for the Czech trio. The seasoned, indomitable machine that is Pardubice's DYSANGELIUM thrives on razor-sharp riffs and pulverising drums. These devotees of traditional death metal are especially adept at transferring their onstage energy straight to the crowd. Brno's GRANDEMONIUM will bring their own take on (black metal) darkness, gloomy atmospheres and electronic energy, combining them into a metallic cyber sound with industrial and dark electro influences. Last but not least, the beer-loving educators PAČESS are ready to introduce their new vocalist, charismatic Silvie Chrudinová, following their most recent era and two albums featuring legendary singer Bára Basiková. Silvie has already demonstrated her extraordinary vocal range as a guest on the band's latest record and during their most recent tour.
About the Festival
Czech Death Fest was founded in 2009 and has been held ever since at Autokemp Brodský. The campsite offers festivalgoers ideal conditions for their stay, including clean sanitary facilities, a traditional pub with fair prices, plenty of space for tents and caravans, swimming opportunities and direct contact with nature just a few steps from the main stage.
