As December Falls and RedHook at Futur – energetic explosion and pop-punk euphoria

The British band As December Falls returned to Prague on Monday, October 27, 2025. They were originally supposed to play at Café v lese, but due to the enormous interest in pre-sale tickets, the concert was moved to the slightly larger space of the Futurum music bar.
The evening was opened by Australian RedHook, who set the bar quite high with their combination of alternative rock with pop-punk and other styles. Singer Emmy Mack arrived in shorts and a short winter jacket - but after the first song she took it off, revealing a phosphorescent crop top.
They set up two electric bubble blowers on stage, which shot bubbles not only at their guitars. During the song "Soju", the singer completely conquered the fans when she invited them to "f*ck" all the bad people in the place with her. In addition, there was no shortage of disguises - for example, before the song "Dead Walk" she changed into a gray dress, into which fake blood flowed from her mouth just before singing. She definitely resembled a zombie. Towards the end of the set, she fearlessly stormed into the mosh pit under the stage.
Then, the Nottingham pop-punk quartet, which everyone had been waiting for, As December Falls, took to the stage. They are known, among other things, for their DIY ("do it yourself") approach to the entire band, so they have no label and do absolutely everything in the band themselves - management, album releases and social media management.
Frontwoman Bethany Hunter Jiménez attracted attention with her charismatic approach right from the start - constant contact with the audience and a very strong energy that filled the entire club. The fans were not left behind, jumping, singing, sweat was flowing. They also formed moshpits, in which the musicians encouraged them.
Among other things, the band brought their new album "Everything's On Fire But I'm Fine," which they focused a lot on. During the song "Grim Reaper", a grim reaper rushed onto the stage, with whom Bethany fought, literally slashed her, and let herself be dragged away in the hands of fans. A mixer was then presented in front of the singer and headphones were put on for a supposed DJ set. RedHooks singer Emmy Mack ran in right after him and together with Bethany they cut their song "Fall Apart." And the guitarists also got to the microphones and sang a cover version of "I Miss You" by Blink 182. As an encore, the radio hit "Therapy" was not missing.
I saw both bands live for the first time and I'm excited - I was definitely captivated by the energy and charisma of both singers. I'm already looking forward to what these bands have in store for us next time.
