ARIEN: The New Voice of Catalan Pop-Punk Aims Higher with the EP "Cims de Gel"

The Catalan scene has a new discovery. ARIEN, formed in 2024 around frontman Pol Font, bring a fresh blend of pop-punk, alternative rock, and subtle electronic elements. Their music is built on strong emotional depth, personal expression, and an authentic sound that balances fragility with energy. The lineup is completed by drummer Gerard Floriach and guitarist Daniel Calabuig.
Musically, ARIEN move across genre boundaries. They cite bands such as Green Day, Blink-182, and Sum 41 as influences, along with Catalan acts like Smoking Souls. ARIEN place their bets on honesty and emotional intensity. Their lyrics are unafraid to explore themes of inner struggle, memory, and life experience. In their songs, they naturally combine Catalan and Spanish. A great example is their debut single Verí, which portrays love as an unavoidable addiction — something that destroys us, yet one we consciously accept.
In 2025, the band released their debut EP "Cims de Gel". The four tracks serve as a clear statement of the band's identity. Production was led by Txosse Ruiz at Wheel Sound Studio, while mastering was handled by Víctor García at Ultramarinos Mastering — and the result speaks for itself. The sound is solid and modern, yet still raw enough to retain its edge.
The year 2026 is set to mark a major step forward for ARIEN. The band is currently working on new material with the aim of solidifying their sonic identity and moving to the next artistic level. After their first successful shows in Catalonia and upcoming performances, including at the prestigious Sala Clap, it is clear that their ambitions are set high.
If you're looking for a band that combines emotional depth with the kind of energy that gets you on your feet, ARIEN are definitely worth your attention.
