Amorphis returns to Kalevala – "Crowned in Crimson" is coming for the film adaptation of Kullerva

Finnish metal gem AMORPHIS, forever walking on the edge between melancholy and mythological darkness, brings its fans an exceptional gift at the end of the year. On December 19, 2025, a new single "Crowned in Crimson" will be released, exclusively created for the upcoming film Kalevala: Story of Kullervo directed by Antti JokINen (Leffat).
AMORPHIS thus returns to the roots of the Finnish epic, which has been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for their entire career. This time, however, it is not about free motifs or metaphorical images - "Crowned in Crimson" was created directly as a musical accompaniment to the film adaptation of one of the darkest and most tragic chapters of the Kalevala.
According to the band, the song is intended to be a musical gateway to the world of Kullervo - a character torn by fate, revenge and inevitability, which shaped the myth itself. Fans can expect an atmosphere full of emotions, melancholic motifs and the dense sound that is characteristic of AMORPHIS.
The film "Kalevala: Story of Kullervo" will be released in cinemas on January 16, 2026, and the single comes as an ideal taster of the entire dark vision. For fans of the band and Finnish mythology, this will undoubtedly be an event that will connect music and film in one of the most iconic forms of the Norse legend.
