A Return to the Roots and True Friends: Harlej Will Shake the Sokol Hall in Chlumec!

05/09/2026

Do you still remember the days when you didn't have to travel to huge sold-out arenas with giant screens and overpriced drinks to hear proper Czech rock? The days when good music belonged in the good old Sokol halls and community centres? We haven't forgotten them. You know the feeling - wooden floors that have seen thousands of sweaty trainers, a packed room, beer in a plastic cup that somehow tastes better than anything else, and above all that unique, almost tangible energy. Most people there know one another at least by sight, plenty of them shout each other's first names across the whole hall, and anyone who isn't part of this rock family yet will be welcomed into it in no time at the bar or in the pit.

Music has always been the best kind of glue. It bonds friendships, breaks down barriers and brings together people from different places who might otherwise never have met. Many of us found our best friends, kindred spirits or even a lifelong crew right there - beneath the stage. In those moments when you throw an arm around a stranger's shoulders and belt out your favourite choruses at the top of your lungs until neither of you has a voice left. Music is simply meant to bring people together, and it works all the more powerfully when there is no chance of disappearing into an anonymous crowd of tens of thousands. Here, we're all in the same boat.

And that is exactly why the autumn concert in Chlumec nad Cidlinou is so special. Harlej have decided to take a nostalgic trip back to smaller venues instead of the mammoth summer festivals. Sometimes it is simply much better - and more genuine - to perform right up close to your fans. To bring the music straight to them, into smaller clubs, closer to their homes and within easier reach. Not everyone has the time, money or desire to travel halfway across the country for a huge event. Not everyone wants to sit through seven other bands they do not really care about just to finally see their favourites when midnight strikes.

Most of the time, all we really want is to grab a beer, walk a few steps and enjoy the old, honest songs everybody knows. We all know what happens when the first notes of hits such as Zrzi Zrzi or Přirození ring out. Singing Až tady jednou nebudu with a packed Sokol hall behind you is the kind of experience that sends shivers down your spine, while Strážní andělé takes on a whole new, deeper power in such an intimate setting. Here, you will be looking the band straight in the eyes - and they will be looking right back at you.

And as if that were not enough, Prague crossover outfit Loco Loco will make sure the crowd is properly warmed up, hitting you with energy from the very first minutes and leaving no one standing around in a corner.

Looking for a rock family you will keep meeting regularly, not only around the Hradec Králové region? At Rebel Sound, we firmly believe that at this event in Chlumec nad Cidlinou you will find much more than just a live show. You will find a ton of great people on the same wavelength, music with real balls, and a piece of that good old rock spirit we all miss from time to time.

Come along, bring old friends, meet new ones, and show that the Hradec Králové rock family is alive and sticking together! See you down in front of the stage!
