22 Years of Worst: When the Smell of Gasoline Meets Metal and Creates One Big Family
There are events that are far more than just festivals or biker gatherings. They are meetings of people united by the same passion, freedom, and respect. That is exactly what Worst is all about, celebrating its 22nd anniversary this year. From the very first moment, it is clear that this is not only about polished machines and roaring engines. It is about a community where it does not matter whether you arrive on a chopper, a sport bike, or by car. Everyone is welcome and everyone becomes part of one big family. The atmosphere perfectly proves that biker culture and heavy music belong together.
As visitors enter the venue, they are immediately greeted by dozens of beautiful motorcycles of every style imaginable. The air is filled with the scent of gasoline, leather, and rock music. Within seconds, it feels as if you have stepped into another world. Tough looking bikers arrive with their partners and children, proving that beneath the leather vests is a friendly community without prejudice. At Worst, nobody feels like an outsider. Whether you are a biker or simply a fan of heavy music, you quickly realize that everyone is equal here.
The musical program opened with the Hořice thrash metal band Wietrator, who set the bar incredibly high from the very first minutes. The energy on stage was infectious, and the first mosh pit erupted almost instantly. The band proved that thrash metal is anything but a thing of the past.
Next came Jičín punk legends Nukleární Hovada. They launched straight into their set without any warm up. From the opening notes it was obvious the crowd had been waiting for them. The pogo reached insane levels, and there was not a single safe spot in front of the stage. One of the highlights was the new song Hymna manželek, during which couples gathered in front of the stage to enjoy the unique atmosphere together.
After the punk storm, Hradec Králové hardcore outfit Everyday Hate took over. Crushing riffs, relentless energy, and total commitment turned the stage into their own territory. Despite performing a shortened set due to the drummer's illness, the band delivered a highly professional performance, and the substitute drummer did an outstanding job.
The Czech Argentine band Plán to Kill brought the musical program to a close. The combination of Czech musicians and an Argentine vocalist resulted in an original performance full of Spanish lyrics, lightning fast riffs, and uncompromising energy. Even late into the evening, the audience refused to slow down, giving the band the grand finale it deserved.
After twenty two years, Worst remains living proof that the biker community and heavy music are inseparable. It is not just about concerts or motorcycles. It is about people who return every year for the atmosphere, friendships, and sense of belonging. This year's edition once again showed that as long as events like this exist, the Czech metal and biker scene will always have a strong place. And if you have never attended a Worst gathering before, perhaps now is the perfect time to change that.
